According to Grace several months ago, Keaton is going to be the "Nick Fury" of the DCEU, showing up in multiple films in a leadership/mentor role.

It is what it is. Affleck has voiced his disinterest in these sorts of films multiple times now. So they were either gonna recast or bring in some other version of Batman, and with them already having a new Batman lined up I can see why the latter seemed more appealing to them since Keaton would seemingly fill a different niche.

I don't think a situation where they had two dueling Batmen franchises (like all those people who convinced themselves Affleck's Batman movie was still happening) was ever in the cards.

Yea lots of weirdo Snyder cultist hinging on discovery to save the Snyder verse and cancel everything in production and bring affleck back. These are actually thoughts from some of these weirdos.

Returns is such a slog to get through to get to the good stuff though. Max Shreck and his son Chip? Selina Kyle calling herself a "corndog?"

Ugh.

Penguin getting the Batmobile's blueprints. Such a weirdly bad movie. But I love the look of it and Catwoman is crazy hot (emphasis on crazy).

I hope Affleck gets a good send off in the Flash, his Batman deserves it. And considering that Superman isn't in the plans for the next JL movie, how are they going to get rid of Cavill's Superman?

Looks neat. The movies themselves may be hit or miss but I always like seeing a straight out of the comics translation of the suits.

I've always disliked Batgirl ever since I first saw her in re-runs of the old Adam West show. I just felt like her presence waters down Batman even more than Robin. She didn't even have a gimmick...she's just Batman, same costume, but with boobs.

Things were starting to get ridiculous when I quit reading Batman comics in the late 90s as far as how many allies and associates Batman had on his "team."

It's downright madness now, with the Bat-Family. How many are there? Batman, Batgirl, Batwoman, Nightwing, Jason Todd, Damien, Spoiler, Huntress, Azrael, etc etc etc.

I thought it was bad when they added "Harold" and Ace the Bat-Hound....now the Batman character is so diluted there's nothing left.

But that's OK. Nobody actually reads that trash anymore.

I'm actually really liking it. Definitely gives me those 60s Yvonne Craig vibes, and it's a nice change from the plethora of black batsuits we've seen on screen the last 30 years.

And also cool seeing something that actually looks fairly practical, and isn't another skin tight leather superhero suit for no reason.
