lol, right, but between that shot and this one I feel like Hot Toys is bringing attention to some ratcheted joints or other improvements in leg articulation.

I mean I think this figure is intended as a second or third chance for people who don't have a Batman Begins figure already, rather than a 2.0 release that would crater the value of all previous releases? Same reason the Tumbler and Batpod are straight-up reissues? :dunno

Even with ratchet joints the suit is going to bunch up in unsightly ways and then you have to worry about the rubber tearing. It's a statue.

I'm probably alone in the thought, but I would much prefer a hard molded plastic suit with joints hidden by the lines in the suit, as much as they could anyway.

With no rubber at all the figure would have a shelf life of however long you owned it with no fear of posing.

^Yeah plastic has been brought up in the past. Would be interesting to see no doubt, but I think that ship has sailed. If they ever get around to this guy again I'll be close to 60. Damn

I really wanted to like this, but there's just nothing to get excited about. The Bruce sculpt made sense on the DX19, but not on the this version.

This is the only hot toys batman figure I won't order, which is a shame because this is the version that really should be a showpiece.

Wow, I've earned quite the reputation on the Marvel boards for being a HT basher, but I just read this entire thread and y'all put me to shame with all the HT hate going on here! :lol

That being said, I would like a Begins suit...but after reading all the negativity/criticism on here I guess the proper move is to avoid this one, which I guess I will. Vote with yo wallet peeps!

Hot Toys continues to raise the bar of how lazy they can be. I bet that rumored DX Heath Joker is just going to be a straight rerelease of the DX11, just without the interrogation room diorama or laughing head.

Perhaps they cant make new figures as fast as they can since almost all of the vet sculptors moved out from HT now

Is that true? It would definitely explain a lot.

What exactly is the reason for them to not include the grappling gun and the little grenade accessory? They probably cost 10 cents to make. They were included in the original figure, MMS 150 from 2011.

10 years later, reissues the figure but takes away those two accessories. :lol I'll never understand what goes on in their mind.

Yea, I mean NECA did an all plastic 1/4 batman. Joints were pretty well hidden for the most part. Not sure if this is still a thing that toy companies do today, but I remember when Batman Begins came out back in the day, there was a special edition mattel figure that was plastic but had that cool rubber coating so the figure felt like rubber even though it was made of plastic.

Yup. I think Yulli is still there (I could be wrong though) but many have moved on to other companies like Kojun and someone else are at JND.

small grenade is still included (they call it a bomb in the specs) but yea, not including the grappling gun is stupid. That's a key accessory for any Batman figure.

Maybe this is all an April's Fools joke and they'll do a proper announcement tomorrow with a 2.0 version. :lol

Seriously though this is disappointing as hell. The begins suit is one of the nicest around and it's a shame it's being treated like ****. The 1/4 was disappointing to me with the inaccuracies that made the years old Enterbay better than it. Thought and hoped there'll be a 2.0 revisit but instead we get a half-ass reissue.

Anyone heard hot toys delayed the figure after all the backlash I guess they might actually give us a new updated figure rather then this.

Young fooool. Your feeble skills are no match for the combined power of DC and Aliens & Robots Hot Toys bashers. :lol

I jest. Welcome gmoney!

I also kinda hate that they give this reissue a new MMS number. I think new MMS numbers should be reserved for actual new figures.

The gauntlets looks semi-gloss there - didn't they end up matte on the final figure?

I've never researched the inner workings of HT so I'd never heard that, but it does make sense. All the 3x reused sculpts and reissues would hide the fact that they don't have the talent they once did. They must have at least one skilled sculptor left though, the recent Boba sculpt is fantastic.

Where'd you see that? Or just wishful thinking?
HT must have someone that gauges fan reaction and interest on social media, so they must know all the complaints.

I think I agree with you! Should be MMS###-R for Revision, or Reissue. Which I would emphasize REVISED as no figure done again "X" amount of years later should be a Reissue. They should always be revised using the latest techniques and improvements.

Do you think this figure will suffer from the same rubber peeling issue the 2011 toyfair figure had?

Thats Yulli. She also did the Bruce Wayne. :lecture

Been looking for custom cape for this. Assuming it will be same fitting as the previous version? Anybody know who still sells custom capes? I used to buy from tony mei but was not able to find him on this site.
