Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

There has been just too much against Affleck from the beginning. It didn't help that his DC movies (not his fault) were not commercially successful. Replacing him at this point would be good for his health and perhaps for the DC movies.

Oscar Issac, as awesome of an actor as he is, I don't think would be a good commercial option. I think he would be a great pick for a number of characters: Penguin, Scarecrow, Two-Face, Black Mask, Ras, Clayface, Riddler. Black Mask or Clayface I would love to see.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Affleck was perfect as Bats- in BvS. JL tore apart that character he established- just get back to that original one and you're fine.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

There's no way Affleck is coming back to a film series he obviously regrets signing himself into. He'll probably phone it in for that rumored contractual SKWAD 2 cameo and walk.

I wish things would've gone better for the DCEU, but outside of Wunder Wooman it's dead.

I have no interest in this without Affleck. Hopefully he's doing okay.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Recast.

He's obviously more interested in alcohol, hardcore drugs and beautiful porn stars. Who the **** can blame him? I'd be doing that too.

He can die a happy fat man for all I care.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

He might use this as his big "comeback" movie- the press will eat it up..

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Just cast Keaton again.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

You know what’s stupid?

They had the damn movie laid out in front of them. That robin suit is a huge clue that this movie was going to be under the red hood. I mean I thought that was the obvious choice. They made it seem like that’s what they’d be going for.

But no they don’t know who they want, where there going, or what story to tell. It’s like studio execs are clueless. Atleast in WB .

Under the red hood would of been a perfect follow up for this batman. After all he went crazy after robin died it seems.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

I feel like the warehouse scene in BvS *was* his RDJ comeback moment after crappy Daredevil (not because of substance abuse but career-wise.) I think for it to be a proper comeback it needs to be more of a fresh start, not just returning to a character that became lame (Justice League) on your watch.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

You mean the stunt double?

RDJ MADE Iron Man.

Affleck played a Batman.

Huge difference there.

BvS warehouse scene > MCU

I was actually hoping they'd recast a younger Bats and make this a prequel to BvS, like WW and WW '84. Bats needs more of a back story.

I'd also like to see a costume even closer to the comic-book version.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Hnnng

I love the Warehouse scene but that’s like one scene where as MCU has dozens of those types of scenes and even better!

TWS/CW/IW alone have way more of that stuff!

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Of course I’m exaggerating but I’m also biased cos my top two superheroes are still Bats and Supes. And unlike many I approve of how Snyder handled them.

Right now I’m all Marvelled out. But I’m still looking forward to future DC offerings.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Batman Begins
Logan
Infinity War

...make a hell of a "greatest hits" trilogy across the three studios. Don't need to include Sony since Spidey's in IW, lol. My 80's/90's self is just blown away that we now have films of such quality featuring all those characters.
