Damn sweet. Looks like I'm going to have to double-dip and get both versions of John Connor.

I hope for consistency, they knew this figure was coming and had the head go into production around the time they did the redos on the v1 heads so they look alike, it's one thing when it's like say Han Solo from two different movies not being painted exactly alike, but in a case like this, other than the ammount of dirty and all, this Connor should look just like the v1.

The big question is can they do anything to fix that magic tape. I ended up gluing all of mine.

Other than not using it and switching for something better, no, they've been using it on figures for a year now and they're all equal in quality.

Fortunately, v2 looks to use it far less than v1.

I can't wait to have that gun with the v1 figure, while you can get cool poses with the gun he comes with, I think you'll be able to get more and better looking ones with the different gun, and the v1 gun should be fine with the v2 costume as the soft shirt will be more easy to pose with than the thicker leather coat.

That hydrobot really is stunning, i still feel like it's a bargain to get it for the small price difference between v1 and v2.

I can't wait to get this! I skipped out on V1 so far but I'm sure I'll be getting it as well.

Any figure of theirs where there's a fair ammount of special engineering that can't be applied to future figures ends up pricier, and the work on this Iron Man and the Hyrdobot are a one time deal, they can't build other figures with the pieces down the line.

You are absolutely correct about raising the cost for the "special" pieces that cannot be duplicated However, the mark-up is considerable for a new stand and hydro-bot. Everything else is re-hash even the sculpt. It is minimal effort at best to make the scar /blood spots.

I will give Ironman the benefit of doubt considering the engineering aspect but whew. It is hard pressed for me to justify dropping that kinda dough on a duplicate figure but I will grudgingly with Ironman.

I consider they Hyrdobot as impressive and taxing an effort as everything on Iron Man, and while some things are new, a lot of Iron man is improvements on something they've already done.

The Hydrobot is a first, built off of minimal reference material, features lights, articulation, and a number of small components. I'm quite comfortable with the price difference between v1 and v2 being what it is, I think the Hydrobot makes it make sense, it's about $50 and odds are a Hydrobot sold by itelf would probably fetch $70-$100.
