Is it okay for people to pay disabled people to skip lines?

I remember back in the day, our high schools would 'rent' out different parks during a certain time and the park would be available to the seniors. I forget which parks they used to do this at but, I'd imaging if you've got millions or billions, why not just do something like that?

*well, come to think of it, I believe they were water parks.. But still, money talks right?

Hahaha! This is ridiculous!... but hey, I've never been to Disney land and am disabled, I'd totally be down for this. XD

So I thought we could have a poll. Basically Disney has a policy where if you have a disabled person you get to skip all the lines.

A few wealthy people have caught on, and are paying real disabled people up to and over $1,000 a day to attend the park with them. This is so they can skip the lines.

Obviously my first reaction was how horrible it was. Then I thought about it and they are paying people a ton of money who might not ordinarily make it on their own (even with a job).

What do you guys think? Morally it's horrible. But I'm stuck on them paying someone who may not even have a job to have a damn fun day and make a little cash.

I should add that this is a public poll.

Sounds like a win/win to me.

our highschool did that. it was a whole district of schools but it meant really quick lines and a really fun night at disneyland. as for the issue at hand, i don't have a problem with it. If it gets out of hand, rules will become more strict and it won't be so easy to do. for now, the wheelchair individual gets paid and a free trip to disneyland and a few people get to go the front of the line...seems pretty harmless.

Why don't they do like the poor people do and rent a wheelchair and take turns riding in it to get to the head of the lines?

Now, here's my opinion, and I'm sure I'll catch hell for it. You're in a wheelchair, why do you need to cut through the line to get to the front just because of that? You're in a chair. Now, what about people with crutches, canes, bad legs? Should they go to the front because they can't stand in lines for long, but yet can spend all day walking around Disney? Should the elderly go to the front? Should little kids go to the front? Should fat people go to the front? Should disruptive, rude people go to the front?

:D

:dunno It just says "disabled".

And I've also seen it happen plenty, at the Six Flags here in Jersey they even let you up front if you just have crutches.

But yea whenever I goto those places it's always during a school day, like a tuesday and early so theres rarely ever a wait anyway. If you goto Disney World on a saturday in July well than obviously be ready to wait hours.

Like I said, you can't wait in line with crutches but you can walk all over the park?

Bigger fish to fry. I don't care. Next.

And yet.....

This whole thread sucks. I am surprised the OP started it because he's better than this. hehe

*ruffles Keith's hair playfully* Just giving you a difficult time.

Must not have this at Universal studios... the one time I felt kind of guilty about my over-priced express pass was when I jetted past an old guy in a wheelchair that looked super uncomfortable.

They used to :X Maybe they didn't realize that kind of service is available or maybe, as you said, they just don't allow it anymore. I'm one of the "poor people" that Ween is talking about :wave. Those were during my younger days though. I wouldn't do that now especially with that single rider option they have.

They need to work something out on Halloween Horror Nights though.. Those wait times are a joke

This is a bull**** story started by New York Post. Most ride lines at Disney are now wheelchair accessible and require the person to wait like everyone else.

Get the facts straight people.

no, You can get a card that says you need to get in front. It is a red card that you ask for in guest services. There are different reasons people can get the card. Basically you go and explain the reason or the problem, they talk to you and then they issue the card.

you can even get the card if you are claustrophobic, I know because a friend of mine did that every time he went, whether he is claustrophobic or not, who knows. But he gets the card and he is able to skip the lines.

Who knows? Everyone, he isn't.

Claustrophobic, that's easily the best, forget crutches. Why in the **** would a claustrophobic person get into a tiny roller coaster and be trapped on a 3 minute hell ride packed knee to knee?! :lol

No ones getting hurt, the disabled people aren't being forced, they are getting money to goto "the most magical place on earth". They still have a great time I'm sure. 2-3 People cut the line? So what, no differant than fast-pass or the people who stay at the Universal Studios owned hotels like Hard Rock and can use their hotel room key for front of the line access. Theres a King of Queens episode form like 5-10 years ago where Arthur goes to a theme park with Deacon and his son and have the same revelation so Arthur starts pretending he's in a wheelchair.

The people don't just get in front of the line, usually it would be like doing Fast Pass but for every ride.
It is not like they escort you to the front or anything. As far as I know people with disabilities that get the card go on the Fast Pass line and enter the rides. (Sometimes they will be escorted to the front of the line depending on the problem)

Universal has the Express Pass, which you have to pay for it and you get to skip the lines.
I think Disney should get rid of the Fast pass lines and start charging for Express pass. then the People that want to skip the lines would just pay the extra cash. :dunno

I think Fast Pass lines are flawed. Disney is losing money doing things this way.

I am giving him a hard time... haha Cause Keith is my buddy. And he knows better... I am sticking it to him, like you are to me. It's a vicious cycle. But in the end, we all know we care.... :1-1:

Also, Pix is on my case because he knows his one kid has surpassed him in skill-set and talent.. probably in smarts.

Marc's kid is uber talented. Gets it from the mom's side I hear. hehe
