Why? Because of the title? Do you honestly think people don't watch trailers? People knew "Dark Knight" was Batman. They also knew "Man of Steel" was superman.

People don't watch the trailers.

Those same dummies saw Cloverfield without knowing it was going to be shot with a handycam.

A lot of people just read the marquee and see whatever stands out to them.

I disagree and think a simplistic title like "Worlds Finest" would do just fine with the marketing machine that WB would surely invest. If not trailers, radio stations, television shows, posters and billboards would make it clear enough what it is.
