Desperate times for a Predator collector. :panic:
Exactly so. I guess seeing this, I realised how much I'd love a new HT Predator. This ain't it though.

Incidentally I've just watched Prey again since it was released. Quite enjoyed it. I stand by my previous comments that it's a solid attempt.

This film really treats its Predator strangely. They show him with amazing feats and skills then other times he's utterly brain dead.
And the way they kill him off...

I think apart from the face, it's the long neck and hunched shoulders that really sets this apart from other Predator designs.
Small head on a long neck changes the overall shape and anatomy of the creature from previous designs more than the weird horse face does.
I think that's a bigger fundamental change from the species norm.

Then you've got missing body net and armour. Altogether this thing just looks wrong, even with the mask on.

Agree with everything you said. A really solid film let down by its Predator. As an isolated design (including the figure), it does look pretty cool; it's just not a Predator.

Putting the actors head in the neck, the sausage fingers and the abomination that is the face design, they really wasted a good opportunity to match a good film with a solid Predator design.

So…Predator almost costs as much as the Venom and Carnage figures even though it has visible joints?

So the Hot Toys is 14.57 inches tall. Is it undersized?
Anyone know the actual height of the Feral Pred? Is it 6'8", 6'9", 7'6" or bigger?

Looks really, really good....
Think I'm gonna have to get this - new job has started so I will have a little more disposable income and I LOVE this film and I really like the design of this Predator [other than its face - thats a downgrade from the original classic look that wasnt wanted or needed].
Where are people seeing the price for this?

- nevermind, my hand accidently clicked next page twice so I missed the discussion regarding the price on Kit's webiste.

Yeah, that price is a killer and may be what stops me getting this.... gonna have to have a hard think on it, but honestly I think I will still get it and maybe cancel a different order. I do love Predator.

Wow, $432.

I'd like to have it in my collection, but I'll wait it out. After seeing so many horror stories lately (and not just here), I'm not apt to preorder. Also this thing might end up on sale at some point. The Beserker, IIRC, sold OK. But the Tracker and Falconer were slow movers back in the day. Maybe HT limited the edition run on this accordingly.

Be cool to have, I like it, I love Predators in general, but there's too much sticker shock here on my end. To be fair, to younger collectors who have only known 280-320 level Hot Toys figures, this might not be such a stretch to them. But for those of us who remember the salad days of 150 dollar HT boxed sets, that's might be too much long term context to pull the rip cord here.

I'm happy for those who wanted it and will have a chance to get it. I'll take my chances on defying FOMO here. If I can pull it at a good price one day, great, if not, I'll learn to live without it.

I wouldn’t even consider this if there’s no Naru to go with..

Back in the very late 90s, Power Of The Force was cleared out hard. To make way for Phantom Menace Toys. So if you were lucky, if you came early, you could find a Star Wars AT-AT ( the big monster himself) for 9.99 at Toys R Us. I think A Wings were 4.99 and lots of figures were 1.99, etc, etc.

So another collector and I used to formulate hobby currency in AT-ATs. If something was 50 dollars, a princely sum back over 20 years ago, we'd say it was 5 AT ATs. I.E. "That's not worth 5 AT ATs!"

This thing is FORTY THREE AT ATs. Before tax and shipping. That's 86 A Wings. And 86 Arvel Crynyds. Maybe I'm just old now.

Imagine if Vader got into his custom Tie Fighter at the end of ANH. He had two escort fighters with him. Then he saw 86 A Wings bearing down on him. Do you think he'd stay? Or hightail it and go get some lemon pepper wings instead?

So I don't want to totally be one of those guys who rankles on prices. But this rattles the basic AT AT currency test.

I kind of feel like this may be another one of those figures announced and Sideshow says is coming soon and then never goes up for pre-order. Otherwise not sure why it wouldn’t have gone up today.

Has a Hot Toys figure with complete photo gallery pics ever ended up in purgatory limbo? And OSK has their PO up already too.

I’d say this is just Sideshow trying to hold onto making things Spooktacular announcements for specific days.

Dial of Destiny Indy and Emo Toby Spider-Man come to mind. But in this case I too believe they’re just saving it for Spooktacular which starts tomorrow.

I feel like it comes with a decent amount of accessories. Price is high though I agree. Although Kit is probably a bit more in comparison but also doesn’t charge tax and shipping is built into the price.

I’d love to have the figure in my collection and I was immediately hyped when I saw the preview. But for that price? I’m just going to wait until this guy hits the bargain bin. If it doesn’t, then I guess I missed out.
