EXO-6 Star Trek "The Wrath of Khan" Figures

I think everyone understood that these were prototypes. But just like with any new HT reveal, that doesn't mean we're not going to have opinions about them and the different ways we think they could be improved.

Out of all the sixth scale figures I’ve amassed in ten years of collecting I get the most joy out of these trek offerings even dating back to the qmx era . For that I give nanjin great deal of credit and slack that I don’t afford hot toys or others

Yeah, Hot Toys keeps getting more expensive and their quality slips a little too often now. Still good stuff but could be much better for the money they want.
Thier DX releases are starting to be a joke.

And most of the photos of the figures, being prototype or production, come from his own Facebook postings and/or video interviews.

Even if they are identified as prototypes, he is inadvertently inviting input from the collectors, who may want to share their observations. That is pretty much how this hobby of ours has functioned since it first became a hobby.

I also appreciate these Star Trek figures and the passion behind their production but the question remains, are we to refrain from posting our critiques (respectfully) on any EXO-6 product in order to not alienate him from posting?

I am a HUGE fan of Nanjin and what he has managed to provide us Star Trek collectors. For that, I will be forever grateful but aside from perhaps "1" unfair critique (and that was directed more to the company than the products) I have yet to see the supposed endless negativity that would force him to leave the forum.

I'm off topic but I'm curious on what you mean on the last point (DX). The new Batman (DX19) with the improved Christian Bale head sculpt looks like an A+. Catwoman looks like a re-release basically ("enhanced paint job on the sculpt" ) and I heard the previous release has peeling issues with her outfit. I would hope they have since solved that issue with the latest release considering the higher price tag.

A few of the Batman figures have only come with a hand full of acessories as opposed to The Dark Knight Joker who had basically 2 figures in the box. The Darth Maul With the Speeder vs the Solo Maul with a Chair would be another. Tarkin came with a Chair and didn't get DX designation. The worst one I can think of is the new Bespin Luke. 2 figures and a huge base vs 1 figure and an extra base. Anymore DX means "The eyes move" lol

I could never get into Star Trek: Burnham (I gave it three seasons), the only positive for me was Pike. I'm hoping they don't screw up Strange New Worlds.

SNW is good so far. The scenes between Pike and Spock are already better than all of Discovery and Picard. It's just so refreshing to see gold and blue uniforms and the Enterprise again.

I agree. What Nanjin is doing is not easy. From what I understand, it is a small company. It is pretty incredible that he has gotten this far tbh. His scuplts are incredible imo but the tailoring is even better.

Agreed, I would think the bread and butter would be 90s Trek and TOS. Personally I'd be weary of expending a lot of resources on the new stuff (at least for now) as the ROI potential seems less certain vs. the "golden era" series, e.g. the audience score on Rotten Tomatoes for Discovery is 36% and 40% for Picard, not exactly a resounding success. To each their own, I just hope we see the crews completed on "old trek" first before going heavy on the rest.

I have to believe that those are the victims of review-bombing. Picard is not great, yeah, but Discovery is not a "36%" show. If that many people hated it, it wouldn't have spawned four (or five?) new series off its success.

That being said, I wouldn't object to maybe a Mariner and Boimler fig...

I'm not sure about spawning four or five new series off its success but I think "Strange New Worlds" was what many of the Star Trek fans wanted, all along. I have a feeling it will become the flagship of "new Trek" on Paramount and Discovery will languish behind, along with "Picard". But that awaits to be seen.
