Finally got mine in! I got both off my mid bearded heads last week. Both my figures arrived today! One was ordered from osk over two years ago and the other from giantoy when they went back up. Love these figures but I have some qc issues like the spur broke and there’s fragile pieces on the guns that arrived broken.

Oh and also the hand pegs were different on both if my figures. One had smooth pegs and the other had a big mushroom peg that made it almost impossible to remove the hands

My Arthur arrived a bit early, so that was nice.

But I gotta say I'm rather disappointed with the final product, now that I have it in-hand. I've noticed in all the pictures, the hat sits high on the head, and the chest seemed rather big, I figured it was just bad futzing, but now that I have it in-hand ... nope, that's the way it is.

I understand there was already a discussion about how Rockstar placed his hat higher on his head during cutscenes and all that, but I don't agree with the decision to mimic that. Having it sit there as is, it looks goofy, sitting so high on his head. The high-hat look might look better in cutscenes, but in real life, looking at the entirety of the figure, the hat is too high on the head, in proportion to the entire look. I keep on looking at the figure and want to push the hat further down on his head, but I can't.

And he's got this thick upper body that's out of proportion with the lower half. He's got this V-shaped torso, like a body builder, not like a strongman. I think it's because the shoulders are actual ball-shaped joints, and not the oval-shaped joints that allow the arms to rest more easily at the sides. The chest restricts the shoulder movement. It's bad enough when clothing restricts articulation, but when the body itself restricts articulation, that's even worse. I took the jacket off to try and see if I could figure out how to make the shoulder joints work, and articulate them like I wanted, but now I dread putting the jacket back on because it was such a tight fit. And then even getting the jacket off didn't solve the problem

One of the hammers has come loose off the shotgun. I can peg it back into place, but it falls out with the slightest touch.

The panel on the side of the rifle fell off, so then the lever was loose and it eventually fell off. So I had to take the panel off and see how the lever attached to the internal mechanism to get it to fit securely so it wasn't loose. But I'm sure the panel will fall off again, and I have to repeat that whole process.

The lantern mechanism is extremely temperamental. It sort of lights up, not brightly, and not when I tighten it, it briefly lights up as I screw it in. But when it's fully tightened, it doesn't light up.

A boot spur was broken in the package. The actual spur itself was loose in the package. Same with the deputy star. At this point I'm not sure if I'm missing any accessories, but with the empty spots in the trays, and things jostling around, I can't be certain.

I feel like this whole figure is an example of "not seeing the forest for the trees". The hair sculpts are the closest thing I've seen to Hot Toys style, the crisp mold and that shimmering paint, the details on the boots, the wood grain on the guns. It really is packed with detail. But everything is so fragile that I'm afraid to handle it. Pieces have already broken off before I even took it out of the package. The body is detailed and muscular but the whole of it doesn't look right. He's got big ball-shaped shoulders that inhibit articulation and don't look like a realistic human being.

The thing about Hot Toys is ... these sorts of things don't happen. When I open a Hot Toys figure, there's not broken or loose accessories loose in the box. Things aren't falling off the figure. The tolerances on the hair/head is so tight that the paint dried on the head and is chipped just removing the hair. I read the instructions, about how you pry the hair apart to slip it back on the head, so you don't break the strands. This isn't that, the paint has dried and 'glued' itself to the hair, so when you pull the hair off, it pulls the paint off the headsculpt.

At this point, I'm worried about John Marston. If this was a character I actually wanted and cared about, I'd be a lot more disappointed.

The articulation of the body has to be addressed for the next figure. I've spent last night and this morning trying to futz with this thing, and I absolutely cannot get the shoulders/chest how I want it to look. I keep wanting to push the shoulders down to get a natural-looking slope and it just won't happen. And the more I futz with the figure, that's when parts are breaking or falling off.

Had I bought this from a retailer stateside I would probably ask for a straight-up return to get my money back, like I did with BBTS and the Asmus Gandalf, that figure was a mess. I'm hoping that KGHobby will at least be able to replace the accessories that have broken or fall apart.
You are the first overwhelmingly negative review on the figure, we're sorry you feel that way about it, I'd like to touch on some of the points you made and give answers to you and everyone else reading this.

The hat angle can be adjusted to achieve a more natural looking effect, the in game model of the hat is very tall which adds to it looking high on his head and it doesn't actually sit on his head, it floats on it and can clip with his hair, the challenge of translating it to figure format was not easy, especially when taking into account there has to be a gap between the sculpt and the hat itself to avoid paint damage, we were satisfied with the final result but if people don't like it I'm sure there's many routes to go, such as customizing the hair or the hat itself and even using a different hat since the outfit options in the game are endless.

The body was based of his in game model, his torso is indeed extremely wide in porportion to the rest of his body, even in the later chapters, the articulation is based off the most recent blueprint for 1/6 scale bodies, the reason it might be a bit harder to articulate is that we padded it after criticism that it looked "too skinny" which made the clothes sit tight on it and a bit harder to articulate.

I reccomend that you glue the hammer of the shotgun back on, glued parts coming off can happen with any figure and it's an easy fix.

The panel is removeable by design in order to allow for easier replacement of the lever should it break during transport or after, we sculpted the interior mechanism in order for it look realistic should you prefer to keep it that way.

The batteries included with the lantern seem to have an issue for some people, we suggest trying new batteries, in case the mechanism is broken or damaged you can contact the retailer you bought it from to get a replacement.

The spurs are the most fragile pieces of the package and we warn people to be careful when handling them, we plan on fixing them for future releases, loose items are due to the handling during transport, nothing is chucked inside randomly at the factories, we will have better packging on our future products to avoid that issue. It's also important for me to say we do offer costumer service through various retailers, including One Sixth Kit, KGHobby, Giantoy, etc. If you have any broken/missing pieces you can contact them about this issue and replacements wil be sent to you.

I've said it before, we're not Hot Toys, they're a multi million dollar worth company that have pioneered this whole industry, we're a relatively new brand that is evolving and making mistakes like everyone else, every release offers us more expirience and lessons than the one before, as far as the hair pieces we haven't seen anyone expirience the issue you mention, I sometimes get it on figures during colder weather when everything gets harder, we advise caution when putting the hair pieces on and when removing them as well.

It's clear you are extremely unsatisfied with the figure, I'm afraid even if you were to ask for replacement parts you still wouldn't like it, there is nothing we can do about that, and if you didn't like this one you will not like John either, I advise you to sell it and get your money back, there's lots of people looking for it at the moment, should you still purchase our future products I hope they are more satisfactory, otherwise I'm sure there's many other offerings from other brands to look forward to.

Well not what i was expecting today but i at least got the extra head sculpt, i ordered two years ago, looks pretty good shipping kinda scratched him up but oh well. Looks good i guess thank you R_R_X for always keeping it real over this production.
I doubt I’ll ever see the actual figure in my hands but a man could dream i suppose.
If you ordered from One Sixth Kit you will 100% get it, either this December or January, I had a bad day myself and funnily enough my copies of the figure are also expiriencing some issues and could potentially be lost, but these things can happen to anyone, what I've learnt over the years is that today and tomorrow might be a bad day, but next week might be really good! Life likes to throw curve balls at all of us but this is a manageable one, trust me you'll get your figure and I hope you enjoy it when you do! :)

I'm happy you like it man! For any broken/missing parts please contact the retailer you ordered the figure from so replacement parts can be sorted out and sent to you.
Can you take a picture of this peg issue for me? First time I'm hearing of it.

EDIT: The peg issue is confirmed to be a problem with the factory, they assembled some of our bodies with different pegs belonging to another production line, we'll make sure it doesn't happen in the future.

Received the figure + headsculpt from OSK last week, looks great to me. You can mess with the hat and angle of the head to get it looking pretty low. Only thing I would've preferred is double bend elbows for better posing with the bow and rifle, majority of us are not posing Arthur topless so the joints would never be visible! View attachment 546410
Happy you like it! The figure has double jointed elbows, the arms are a bit harder to pose with the jacket on which might make you think it's a single joint, with a bit of futzing it'll be easier to pose with the jacket on.

Any updates on the Toy Origin stock, R_R_X? I know you said a decision would be made by the 20th when Kit closes pre-orders for the next run. That's tomorrow now.

I was half debating getting one of these for a friend of mine. I'm keeping the one from Kit no matter what, and if Toy Origin comes through, I'll give that one away. Just curious if I should get an order for a second through Kit or not.

If you don't have an update - that's ok, we're just up on midnight here and was wondering what you might have to share.

Yeah, wow. Definitely better for John. Almost like they should have made the figure to be John and included an Arthur head sculpt, not the other way around.

Sorry nothing has been set in stone yet, Toy Origin did refuse an offer and now we're trying to negotiate with another supplier and waiting for their response, it is more likely Toy Origin will wait for the second batch to collect their stock.

No apology necessary. I understand this is a bad situation for you and the team, as well as the collector. Trying to remain as patient as possible.

What happens to the first batch stock Toy Origin should have received? Where does that end up going?

If nothing can be arranged between them and the other supplier I'm afraid that stock will go to another retailer, your order with Toy Origin will still remain but they'll probably have it available to you when the second batch is finished and ready to ship.

Dude, if you ordered from Kit, you're fine. Take a deep breath. It's coming. I ordered a second batch from Kit as well and I'll likely have it before the Toy Origin matter is settled. Don't worry. Relax. It's coming.
I mean like it’ll be shipped by December but the actual getting to my middle of no where cabin in the woods is gonna take at least two months or so. but hey man that’s life and I’ll probably see it by January. Like I’m not gonna say more gloomy and depressing boo hoo sh”t about myself because that’s weird i even did to begin with on a toy forum. but this has been a darn rough two years on all of us lmao.
but I’m surprised this chat is even active even after the release but here we are i reckon.

If you can't wait, KGHobby's companion store has some limited stock up but at a higher price.

I’m currently making a custom John from the first game. Detailed Outfit and all. I made a slide deck for the outfit, headsculpt and all so that people who help me finish this project had proper references. It was pretty hard to nail all of the detail and I’m wondering if R_R_X / Limtoys are interested in the materials.
Oh btw this is my take on John Marston from the first game based on the vts offer
I remember seeing this one on Facebook, great job! And sure I'd love to see the finished result if you're comfortable sharing it here or through PM.

This is without a doubt the best figure we have gotten from Lim, so all the people who where dissapointed, and don't like it can sell it. In the end that's apart of this hobby can't really please everyone but at least people have options except In this case this is better of the two. Lol but all in good fun it's also a good learning experience for Limtoys, and they can now know what kind of materials work best for what parts.
