I know Nanjin said it was due to Voyager essentially being an unknown as far as demand, but I would still think that they would make enough of her to go around.
They can't "make enough" if it's an unknown, without risking wasting money and having a bunch of unsold goods.

I was definitely a bit concerned for my future Exo-6 plans after Janeway's fast sell-out, but Nanjin's reassurance that TNG, TOS, and TWOK will not have the same problem is enough for me to relax. If i miss out in some less significant character like Ensign Ro, I'll be bummed, but it won't completely ruin it for me.

I get that too, but I’m just saying I would think for a character like Janeway who’s a Captain, and considered an important character that there should have been more than enough to go around right from the start.

Even someone like me who’s admittedly not much of a fan of VOY wanted to get her simply because she’s an important character.

The fact that she sold out as fast as she did makes it a tad concerning about how other characters will be treated. It feels a bit like dangling something in front of our eyes, but if we miss out it’s too bad. I don’t love that approach I guess. I get it that not every character is going to warrant a big run though.

Even with a larger production run, I have a feeling those TWOK figures will still sell out crazy fast. So we'll probably need to camp out by the computer that day regardless.

Like I was saying earlier if the figures are limited announce an edition size. That way we kind of know what to expect, and also if the figures are individually numbered that gives them more a sense of being collectible.

Janeway looks great, as do Data and Picard.

I haven’t jumped on any of your figures yet, despite being very tempted by both Data and Picard and while FC is one of my favourite movies I’ve taken your words about needing to pick and choose when it comes to 1/6 Trek to heart.

I can’t wait to see more of the Captains announced, while I won’t get them all, possibly only a few, I can’t wait to see these released.

Janeways coffee mug was a nice touch, I hope when you get to The Sisko that the Emissary comes with the Defiant branded raktajino mug!

Great times to be a Star Trek fan!

For the US market, there are places with Janeway still available but they are drying up. This wasn’t a release that was here and gone in minutes. I think Nanjin and crew got the numbers right for the US market. Internationally, I can understand some concern and pain with fewer available outlets.

The Janeway rush also seemed to help move available US orders for FC Data and Picard. However, because so many places had available FC orders, retailers probably requested lower initial numbers for Janeway because the FC stuff wasn’t flying off the shelves as fast.

Also keep in mind that about the only folks with product in-hand are those that ordered Data direct from EXO-6. Picard and Janeway have been orders placed on faith for an untested company.

Picard’s recent production photos probably helped move him too. Even with Hot Toys, there are many who wait for production photos to order. EXO numbers aren’t high enough to be give people that option though. US retailers had huge risk on FC Picard that these fence sitters would like his sculpt. If it was subpar, FC Picard would have gotten a fire sale down the line. Now he’s seen some movement.

Figuring out what is “enough” is difficult, and anyone complaining about what Nanjin has provided for Janeway has probably never dealt with production and/or inventory in their lives. Flooding Janeway at this stage would have been disastrous for EXO-6. Instead it was a big win for his company and Trek 1/6. Bravo, Nanjin.

I mean Data sold out relatively quick. Picard isn’t even out yet, but already is on waitlist at Sideshow. It isn’t exactly like the figures are just sitting around in stock.

You can’t just look at Sideshow. The 1/6 economy has a network of retailers that are small business that take a large risk on something like EXO-6. Also, Sideshow is likely being extremely conservative with their own orders. I bet the EXO-6 releases had a reservation that was 20 to 30% of what Sideshow gets from Asmus and Threezero. It is product from a new company with a brand that last had a QMX Picard sit in stock for years. This hurts future orders until things are proven.

Anyone advise me how to run a factory? How to train them? Or seek out talented technicians? How to schedule enough productiins so none of them sits around counting fingers?

Who doesn't want to maximize profit? But maximizing profit is laying down the ground work to failure in pop culture merchandise. I think most if not all 1/6 producers will agree with me on this. Otherwise we will be selling to Walmart and not you.

Fast, Good Quality, and Cheap. Usually we can only have 2 out of 3.

I am giving you 3 out of 3 and still not doing well enough.

Seriously, able to have a complete 1/6 TOS TNG Twok sets already a gift.

Don't be greedy.

Correctly stated. Flooding the market and allow stock to hang around for eternity is suicidal. Data wouldn't be in someone's hand for another 2 months, and Picard wouldn't be shipped until 6 months. Janeway in Feb 2022.

I am not going to do that.

Anyway, let's look ahead for the coming figures. The coming weeks will be fun.

I apologize, and am not trying to say how to run things. Just making some observations, and expressing some concerns over how things are being released. I know you have a plan in motion.

Matching same quantity for Data and Picard is already a big risk. I already took a risky step on Janeway.

Any left over Janeway is toxic poison for EXO-6 because this will screw up the entire production. I signed a contract, I don't want to fail before the contract end date and disappoint all 1/6 Trek friends. No way I will do such a thing.

80% new business failed in the first 12 months. EXO-6 is still under one year. I seriously do not want to be part of this statistic.

I understand consumer behavior very well. But I can't look at the demand at this time. Establishing a consistent production so the employees can feel secure and motivated to do good figures is my prime objective at the production side. I lose these people, then bye bye 1/6 Trek.

We're going to need a whole specialty line for Captains and their Drinks:

Captain Picard - Tea (Earl Grey), and a bottle of Chateau Picard
Captain Janeway - Coffee
Captain Sisko - Raktajino
Captain Kirk - Romulan Ale, Saurian Brandy?
Captain Archer- Sweetened -Iced-Tea, Beer?
Captain Rios - Pisco/Aguardiente (yeah I went there, Chilean (Andean) Brandy)
Scotty - likley rigged all the morning replicators to serve scotch & whiskey coffee and Saurian Brandy
Worf - Blood Wine, Prune Juice, chilled! :lol
