If the artist who did Venomized Ironman actually just do a comic Venom, it might look better than the movie Venom.

I reckon this is the best hot toys venom out, the articulation might not be too great but it has everything else you want, the details and spider symbol on this are on point and the paint job is phenomenal. Even comes with a second head that has a closed mouth

To which comic specifically? There are many. His eyes look a lot like the movie version in some of the newer comics.

If he does get the white spider they aren't gonna show it before the movie comes out.

That is the ONLY reason I haven't ordered Venom yet... Gotta make sure, because if he does have the white spider, I'll have no interest in the 1st version.

But still, even if he DOES have it at some point in Venom 2... Would they really reveal the 2nd figure before the 1st one is even out?

It's not even that you would have to worry about. They're not gonna produce another Venom figure if no one is buying the first version. They'll see that interest is low for Venom so why would they make another one.

You're right and that sucks... Guess we can't expect them to care that a lot of people may not be ordering it because they all expect this Iconic character's costume to change to its Iconic look in the next movie.

To be honest I never did expect them to make any figures from that movie so as much as I know I should be grateful, I'm still not ordering it until I know for sure. I'm willing to bet there isn't one fan (besides the random contrarians) of the character of Venom that would rather have him without the spider, if it's available with one.

Because he is missing a crucial part of his visual appeal?
They could use the same exact figure and slap the symbol on it and it’s done.
If he eventually gets his symbol, regardless how this one sells, they will make another one.

That's now how they consider future figures. Hot Toys gauges interests in their figure lines through sales alone. If they were to do a version with the symbol on his chest, they would need to consider that it would take a slot in their production line. That's money into a painter, sculpter if needed, time for those artist to be away from another project and another round of approval from Sony and much more. If the first figure isn't selling for jack ****, they're not gonna spend the resources and time to a second version with just a symbol on his chest.

I'm all for a version with the symbol since it's iconic for Venom but everyone seems to be not buying the first version because of it and that doesn't hold well for them to do a second version. I'd love to be wrong though. I can see them doing Carnage at least.

I'm sure Sony wants to give Venom a spider symbol. The challenge is coming up with a story rationale that feels organic and not forced. I'll pick up Venom and Carnage as long as they look good. Hopefully a few other surprise symbiotes show up.

They already spend most of their resources and time on developing this body. Venom is a popular character and if the pre orders for this is going to be low, there is only 1 logical reason, cause I assume HT isn’t stupid and that is that Venom doesn’t resemble the comic look enough, because he’s missing the symbol.
Unless his proportions suddenly changes with the potential symbol, I don’t see any issue why HT wouldn’t make a second figure.
