Guh. That white spider symbol really does bring it all together. I don't know if I'd have the gumption to do it myself.

I keep holding out hope that Venom 3 finally adds it, or that the Spider-Man 2 game gets a Venom Hot Toy.

I may have to compromise.

That’s not a good justification for changing a character at all. Also recently venom has not been done a Justice and yes this counts the movie. I’m not saying the game won’t be good but my hype kinda dwindled a bit

I do. I still think the movies suck. Don’t like overly goofy venom. He looks cool tho even tho he doesn’t have the white spider .

they did justice to the depiction and comic accurate version they chose to go with. goofy venom isn't everyone's cup of tea even though he's largely been more silly than not, but to say it isn't accurate is disingenuous.

They are. So is Venom.

As much as I'm even embarrassed to admit it, the movie Venom is a perfectly 90s translation of a perfectly 90s Venom in all his goofball weirdness. You either embrace that nonsense or cringe. But it was definitely a Venom-y Venom movie.

Nah venom when he first debuted was goofy but he was scary and intimidating. Beating spidey to an inch of his life and stalking him and threatening his loved ones. He even beat black cat looking for Peter. Peter had to literally call the FF to help him out. Also took him to an island to have an all out brawl. Peter was so scared of venom he ran from the fight. So again venom is goofy but not in a cuddly teddy bear way the movies make him out to be. More sadistic. He wanted Peter dead by any means

So I went ahead finally and modified this figure.

I have seen plenty of pictures here that made me think that this figure is really cool looking but a spider in his chest (and back) would take him to the next level.

I was really inspired by @Skull Knight and others to try my hand at painting the spider because in my opinion that looks best. However, after thinking about my approach to painting I lost my confidence in my ability to pull off painting the spider without ruining the figure.

So I got some pretty cool stickers and applied one. I plan on going over it again with a hair dryer again to make sure I have all the contours captured.

At any rate here are some picks after my first run with the sticker …

Nicely done! I can't even tell it's a sticker tbh, the edges adhere to the the skin surface so well.

Thanks @medicomsucks @plasmid303 yeah the stickers worked much better than I expected. The guy I bought them from is really nice and great to work with!

Tonight I was focusing more on placement and making sure that I had the legs as straight as I could get them. Tomorrow I will go over it again with a blow dryer to tap down a couple areas I missed the first time.

Overall am pleased with how it came out for a first run at this. But I have a couple more things to do:

I may put another sticker on his back and may connect the legs from the front emblem to the back with paint.

I will definitely paint the white web shooter area on his hands

I may paint his eyes whiter to match the symbol, but I would like to capture the milky effect the eyes currently have, so not sure what to use to pull that off.

Just realized that I actually have the MMS626 version (ooops), but I think they are essentially the same figure outside of accessories.
