Me too. I like the Hangar scene just the way it is. Rocket Sled and all. I think it works perfectly and might be my favorite sequence in the entire film.

Maybe the one thing they could have done (which is in the novel) is show Indy actually seeing the Ark once it's been exposed. In the novel, he sees it, says something like "Well, I'll be damned" and then the chase quickly continues.

I think it's best he didn't see it, because if I were Indy I would've stopped the chase, conned them into thinking that the Ark was a great a powerful weapon, had them open it, and kept my eyes shut, end of movie.

Just came back from the cinema (kinda late, I know ).

Went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised how really good about the first half of the film was. It was all there again and had a great Indy feeling to it. I even found myself thinking about watching it again if it would keep up like that.

Boy was I wrong! The second half until after they found the CS and were being kidnapped to the Amazonas camp was a horrible mess with a cheap looking skull, cheap CGI and really annoying fillers. It was nice to see Marian again after all that time, unfortunately her acting skills seemed to have aged just as much as the actress herself. Well and the Alien design reminded me of Mission to Mars which is never a good thing in that regard.

So on a scale from 0 to 10 I'd have to give the first half a solid 8+ points while the second half is merely a 2-3. Overall I'd vote with a 5-6 but I don't think I could bring myself to watch it repeatedly.

I took my 8 year old cousin to see it and he really enjoyed it. I think it will be interesting to see how/if his view of it changes any as he grows up. I sometimes wonder if some other movies like the original star wars trilogy and the first Indy movies seem better because many of us were younger when we saw them.

DarthNeil

Sex and The city beat it and was #1 the week it came out, check your facts.

And I think your taste is caca so we are even.

I'm seeing "Sex in the City" this weekend with my girlfriend...

I predict it will be better than the new "Indy" movie.

Hell It Would Have To Be Written and Directed By a Chimpanzee to be worse....

Seriously, I saw this film last weekend with the kids. It was an incoherent mess. There was a plot that never hung together. Bad acting on everyone's part except for "Mutt". At least Shia looked like he was trying... Everyone else... I didn't know it was possible to act while in a coma.

Really one of the worst and weakest attempts at a sequel since "Battle for the Planet of the Apes".

Which I officially pronounce the worst sequel.... EVER! (BFTPOTA That is)

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you a gleaming example of Post-Lucas Raped My Childhood™ Internet Hyperbole.

Well done.

I think you may be right, at least as far as some people's reaction to the film. I am old enough that I was not that young when Raiders was released, so there is no childhood nostalgia factor at work for me. And I enjoyed KOTCS just as much as either of the previous sequels (and even more than TOD).

Maybe that factor is clouding some people's objectivity.

Okay here goes pallies.
May I say
It's been great
And a night like this
*stops singing* Hey, you people, you gave me the wrong key
But I must admit,
in all honesty
Mr. Wonderful...this takes alotta guts
That's me.

There are those
Oh, I suppose
Who would get hammy
If they heard such bravos
But I must repeat in all modesty
Mr. Wonderful...that's me.

Back home in Steubenville,
They're doubtin' all this, I swear
They're still bettin'
Six to five, I get the chair
So to you all
In this fine hall
Thanks for making
The evenin', such a ball
And you treated so elogantly
You've been wonderful, simply wonderful,
more than wonderful to me!

I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung, wanna pull out your tough
'Cause you notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she's wearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh baby, I wanna get with you
And take your picture
My homeboys tried to warn me
But that butt you got makes me so horny
Ooh, Rump-o'-smooth-skin
You say you wanna get in my Benz?
Well, use me, use me
'Cause you ain't that average groupie
I've seen them dancin'
To hell with romancin'
She's sweat, wet,
Got it goin' like a turbo 'Vette
I'm tired of magazines
Sayin' flat butts are the thing
Take the average black man and ask him that
She gotta pack much back
So, fellas! (Yeah!) Fellas! (Yeah!)
Has your girlfriend got the butt? (Hell yeah!)
Tell 'em to shake it! (Shake it!) Shake it! (Shake it!)
Shake that healthy butt!
Baby got back!

All right pallie, if that's how ya wanna play it.

Everytime it rains, it rains
bourbon from heaven
I've found out each cloud contains
bourbon from heaven
That good old whiskey's fallin'
from north to south
be sure your head's thrown well back :chug
Open your mouth
Don't you know you'll get a glow
Along the way, sir
And in fact you'll always have
a built in chaser
So when you hear it thunder
Don't run under a tree
Just walk in the rain and get stoned with me. :duff

:lol

But I still love the classic Dino:

Everybody loves somebody sometime
Everybody falls in love somehow
Something in your kiss just told me
That sometime is now

Everybody finds somebody someplace
There's no telling where love may appear
Something in my heart keeps saying
That someplace is here

If I had it in my power
I'd arrange for every girl to have your charms
Then every minute, every hour
Every boy would find what I found in your arms

Everybody loves somebody sometime
And although my dream was overdue
Your love made it well worth waiting
For someone like you

If I had it in my power
I would arrange for every girl to have your charms
Then every minute, every hour
Every boy would find what I found in your arms

Everybody loves somebody sometime
And although my dream was overdue
Your love made it well worth waiting
For someone like you

[Edit]

Poor Indy! What have we done to this thread? :lol

Yeah, Dean's awesome. The funny thing is I prefer Dean's voice and songs, but I sing Sinatra better.

I like "Temple of Doom" too, but its the only other "Indiana Jones" i've seen all the way through (shocking, i know).

Oh and kewl avatar! GO SOX! :D
