I was just in France and their mega retailer FNAC's super stores feel like what the biggest Borders and Barnes & Nobles used to be at their height in the 1990s - in fact maybe larger (versus say the ones I knew in NYC and LA.) And included in that, bizarrely, is disc media. The DVD/Blu section was colossal and burgeoning - no bargain bins or sense of close out that I could see. This was full price and fully stocked with everything from blockbusters to super obscure. It went on and on.

It looked to me (obviously as outsider and brief visitor), super weirdly, that physical media in France is selling today just as well as it always did. Saw this in both Paris and Lyon (second biggest city.) Really wasn't understanding what I was seeing - like France didn't get the "disc is dead" memo. :dunnoNo idea what the market context was, this is all just observation.
Doesn’t surprise me. They love their movies in France. Film festivals, great filmmakers, museums and schools. Plus they have huge respect for American filmmakers pre 80s. Laurent Bouzereau documented most of the earlier DePalma and Spielberg movies.

I'm not sure as I've only seen it once but it seems more re-watchable than Skull.
I assume you mean to say "Krull." And I strongly disagree.

I've only seen DOD once and KOTCS twice that I can recall, which would be once in the cinema and once on DVD. Would I ever do a marathon of all of them, mmmm, maybe not, I could do the OT though.

My previously expressed sentiment in this thread that perhaps I was better placed to enjoy this movie than some of you - being as I am someone who can enjoy TLC more than Raiders - well, I was wrong.

This movie just depressed me. I didn't need to see this. That is all.

I don’t feel like revisiting either :crying

I know.... Krull just isn't all that.

TLC, KOTCS and DOD are the only ones I've seen in the cinema. My parents didn't that kind of movie, so I never got to see Raiders or TOD till they came on TV.
The first two films still get re-released on the big screen every so often.

I last caught Raiders on the big screen for the 2012 IMAX re-release and then took my kids to see TOD in 2017. I think Raiders might have even come out again this year during the DOD pre-hype.

So if you keep an eye out chances are they'll come around again before too long.

It was a drinking game for some people. Krull on Atari. The beginning of the game, you get swarmed and eventually you get overrun and can no longer protect the Princess. And she gets kidnapped. The drinking game was built around how long could you last before she got snatched up. The game would let you, IIRC, just sit there like a madman forever, defending her, until she was "touched" by one of the enemies.

Every second of time in difference between the top person to last the longest equaled one drink. Or a variation of it was hot dogs. You had to eat a hot dog ( with the bun too) for each second in time difference.

People tend to forget that lots of kids in the 80's spent quite a bit of time bored out of their minds. No smart phones nor Internet for non stop porn and dopamine hits.

They don't always come to cinemas I can easily get to.

I totally understand.
The next best thing to do is HOPEFULLY you have a big screen TV. Second make yourself a BIG bowl of popcorn, turn.off ALL the lights and enjoy watching Raiders, and TOD. 😃
