I was told they never do blogger photos for exclusives. This got me thinking, most exclusives are just repaint variant crap, so this is really no different. This is Hot Toys saying we don’t care about Begins enough to invest in an official release but here’s the old one again if anyone wants it.

Viewed through that lens it’s less infuriating, but should be cheaper IMO.
But the BD NWH Spidey is an exclusive..

It seems like a decent number of “First Batch” patrons have this figure in hand already, so I’m wondering why Justin’s video review is conspicuously absent. I definitive critical review could boost his credibility quite a bit, and this one seems like a lay up for that.

So I can’t help wondering if he’s laying off this figure so as not to have a hand in depressing sales for it at TW. I certainly hope that’s not the case, but Justin prides himself one being among the very first set of reviews for any new figure that drops and so far nothing…

I don’t think he has his yet.

I watch all of Justin’s reviews because it’s an ok first look of the figure, but as someone who as been watching his reviews since he started he is just a robot now. He ain’t gonna criticize crap.

Well, he did introduce the “Three Cool and Three Annoying Things” section to try to deflect some of that criticism I think, and while I agree that full on negative reviews on his channel are exceedingly rare, when he really dislikes something he’ll occasionally say so. The last one I can remember was Toys Era’s Proxima Midnight, but that was pretty safe as a fairly low volume third party release, so hardly a top shelf licensed release where a bad review could seriously cut into projected margins at TW.

Like you, I watch his content to get a really nice comprehensive look at a new release and not so much for the commentary. The reason I want to get his review on this one is that I’m a hair’s breath away from canceling this thing, but I want to be sure. I really need a Nolanverse Batman in the collection and I was hoping this could be it.

Nice pics and setup! The figure looks pretty good there. I'm leaning on picking this one up to have it in Batman's first night out gear, personally.
That is the better way to display it. The black mask however I do not understand the thinking behind it. This will stain the **** out of that headsculpt. Is it only for putting on for 3 minutes to take a picture?

This is the figure hot toys will release when the license is about to expire. We will see it again in 2030. The same one but more shiny

Your right this is an opportunity for him to gain a little bit of credibility. I know he thought he could do it with the star ace homelander 🤣

Yeah I think even on the 1/4 the instructions warn about the balaclava staining the head sculpt. I'll probably just have it in his hand.

Probably can hand wash the balaclava to get the excess dye out.
That would be wise and maybe cover the headsculpt as an extra measure with some wrap except around the eyes and mouth as an added step

For washing stuff is it good to use room temperature or hot water or is it not important? And is it good to add dish soap like some people say?

Hot Toys QC is really starting to slip lately. Makes me wonder if they forgot the matte paint on the body because the proto isn’t shiny like that.
Hot Toys QC is only bad when it's not a Marvel or Star Wars figure, because if it's not either of those, Hot Toys doesn't really give a ****.......

I tend to do medium warm water with laundry detergent/soap not dish soap but I would assume either would work 🤔 that’s what I’ve don’t on all my Jedi robes and a couple other items from time to time. Hot toys puts so much dye in some of their fabrics that pretty much as soon as it hits the water/soap mix you’ll see the water start to change color. But I have yet to have any instance of the garment fading from hand washing. I remember taking off the Winter Soldier body padding b/c it was bleeding black dye on the exposed neck, and my fingers were getting dye on them just from pulling the padded suit off.

Doesn't really look high-gloss in Reagan's photos.

So disappointed by this. I own the Dx19 and wanted to have both of them. A custom cape and a new cowl are more money invested in a non cheap figure. Guess I will see it in person and decide what I will do. It will arrive in Spain around March/April, hope new cowls and capes are announced in the meantime.
