Just got mine a while ago and started painting the head yesterday...How the hell do you get his knife to stick to his flak jacket??

You bind it on by cutting strips of the tape provided and wrapping it around the webbing, you can see it my pics with the review here.

What is the best way to repaint the head sculpt? Completely prime the entire head, or just paint skin tone over the camo face paint, and then repaint the proper black stripes on Billy's face? Then paint his hair black over the wrong blond hair? :D

Yeah, I'd go for that especially if you sucj at painting eyes. I primed the whole head and now I'm sorley regretting it cos now I gotta do the eyes and I just aint happy with what I've done so far. Alternatively, Mike, you could prime the whole head BUT not the eyes - get some plasticine or something to cover the eyes when you prime it. Prime it lightly though so the surface is still smoothe when it dries.

Will post pics of mine soon.

Thanks Nicky. Well, I went ahead and painted skin tone over the camo face paint, and then painted Billy's hair black. I then repainted the single black paint stripes over each side of his face like in the movie. Then I painted the bloody scar on his left cheek. It turned out okay. But I'm still not happy with it yet. Not enough to post a picture here. I don't want to embarrass myself until I get it where I like how it looks.

Has anyone used acetone to remove the paint off of Billy? I'm wondering if HT painted the skin tone on Billy's face too. I'm considering using acetone to remove the parts I don't like and repaint them, rather than removing all the paint and having to repaint the eyes and bandana. I pretty much want to paint the hair black and remove the cammo, except for the black on his cheeks (which I may just repaint again, since there isn't really a way around removing the other cammo and leaving just that face paint).

Don't use acetone!
Acetone melts plastic. You'll ruin the surface of the head. Use Equate non acetone remover. It comes in a pink bottle and can be found at Walmart. It stinks to high heaven, but it works great.

Not much action in this section, huh?

Just thought I'd share, as something rather odd happened when I was slightly re-positioning Billy's right arm. I only needed to move it a little bit forward, but as I started to move it I felt something bulge in the back of the shoulder. There was no sound to indicate breakage and the arm works fine, but something poked a hole straight through the rubber from the inside?

The movement I did was very subtle, so thats not really the factor here, as I can see something moving inside the body, right where the hole is. Just a light few millimeter movement and the shoulder turned white and started bulging. Not a single thing pointed to the fact that the rubber might be dry or particularly fragile and now there's a hole in it? Just wondering might there be some sort of defect in this body?
Rubber is very streched and white around the hole and if I leave it like this, I'm sure it will turn into a tear eventually.
Not that big of a deal really, but I just thought I'd ask if anyone has had any issues with HT rubber body's? I have heard "horror" stories and seen pictures of damaged body's (not HT though), but how easily does a tear begin? Or has anyone else had a similar experience with Billy?

I guess I'm a little conserned if the quality of the rubber bodies has dropped or not? Since this might affect my future purchases.
I dont play with my collectibles and Billy's hand has been in a very standard position since I got him. Well inside the limits that the manual suggest...
I have Rambo III and Hellboy myself, but neither of them has any problems with the body + Rambo has been in way extreme poses than Billy without a scratch?

But anyway I guess I should be more worried about that bright green circle thingy, right?

Thank you SS, I used the Equate non acetone remover and now my Billy looks like Billy. I am really glad I stripped the paint off his face, it just took a few hours to take my time and get it right.

Is Silent Surfer still painting these? Sent a PM other day but no reply. I got a brand new head.

This thread is kinda old now, but here are a couple new Billy Sole heads for a couple Freaks.

Nicky wanted his clean and undamaged, and The Darkness Predator wanted his to be saying, "There's something in those trees."

Now if they could just accidentally give us a good Blaine, we're set. What are the chances of HT making Jesse's wrestling personna, "the Body"?
