Captain America: Winter Soldier is my favorite MCU flick. Arguably the best mainstream superhero film ever made, although many will contend that honor goes to Nolan's TDK. (TDK I personally feel is overrated but then again I love BvS.) I suspect the Russos likely enjoyed the most freedom in making that film. Civil War kind of missed the mark for me. The Russos have admitted that the studio dictated that they change the original plan for the film late in the game in order to try to beat BvS to the punch with a similar plot. Even with Feige's notes to the Russos for IW and EG I still enjoyed that conclusion to the infinity stones saga tremendously, though.
Wow, we’re completely in sync on TWS, TDK and CW.

Should I be worried?

Yes, and badass Thor for God's sake! I'm sorry I can't stand what Waititi did to the character.
Yes, Thor was the highlight of IW for me. And I was fine with him in Ragnarok but Waititi completely whiffed with Love & Thunder. But I think the Russos ruined Thor first with alcoholic dad bod Thor.

I don’t think I’ve actually ever seen that entire movie, but I’ve stumbled across it on TV and seen the end several times. Isn’t that the one Judi Dench did purely for the paycheck? I do recall enjoying the 3rd one (Riddick?) with Kate Sackhoff. One of those guilty pleasure films lol.

No idea what Dench's motivations were, lol. But she played an "Elemental" (IIRC a being that projects itself into our physical world from another dimension) and was really good in it.

The third film, named simply "Riddick," is actually probably the weakest of the three imho. It's still fun though. It's sort of ruined at the end by Riddick seemingly "converting" a lesbian to become his lover I guess because of his sheer raw animal magnetism? Good lord. But then again, maybe she's bisexual or pansexual. If that's the case, fine. But anyway, it just felt like a weird narcissistic thing to throw in there. Like musically hitting a conspicuously bad note at the end of an otherwise decent performance. But overall the action is good and Riddick as a character is entertaining as hell.

With Ragnarok I could see the handwriting on the wall, and my hear sort of sunk. It telegraphs to me where the character is headed, so I can't enjoy it. Although I did appreciate some battle scenes in Ragnarok and loved Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie.

Again, totally agree on Winter Soldier... and TDK being overrated (I love Ledger, but everything else in that movie falls flat or worse for me).

I do love Infinity War though. It's just a great non-stop, best-of, superhero movie with a great tragic cliffhanger. Much better than the plodding, emo End Game.

Yes same for me. Ledger does give a tour de force performance. But the rest of the movie doesn't really captivate me at all. I'm actually bored to tears with it. And although it was good for it's time Bale's Batman isn't holding up all that well. His Bat-voice, the suit, same problem as preceding iterations of Batman being unable to turn his head, bland fight choreography. He plays a great Bruce Wayne though!

Here's the thing though: none of that is "bad." It just doesn't connect with me. Hope folks get the distinction!

Yeah, the critics liked Pitch Black more, and it is indeed really good. But CoR has a whole universe of mythology behind it. It's Vin Diesel's home brew setting for D&D and of course featuring his main player character Riddick, a rogue. It just places you in that mythos without explaining it, but you can then guess at and wonder about those things. There's lore that was well developed in Vin's head for the Necromonger religion, the Elementals, the Furyans, the Mercs, Helion Prime (planet that's invaded), Crematoria (prison world), etc.
Fwiw, I think Rebel Moon and CoR are pretty comparable in terms of quality and tone. I say that as someone that enjoyed both.

Also, I'm with you on CA:TWS. That is still peak MCU for me.

That is an odd story point considering Vin Diesel is gay himself.

I did not know that!

Edit: Now Googling this kind of looks like this isn't the case, though. I mean if he's gay that's obviously cool, but it doesn't look like he's said he is. And he's in a long term straight relationship with kids (not that that cinches it lol, but it's not like he's married to or living with a man, etc.)

The old adage 'believe nothing you read and half of what you see' still applies, even moreso today.

I was at a beach house party many years ago and witnessed Vin's preference in person. I suppose you could say he's bi if that makes people feel better here.

Ah, well from direct observation then. No telling where he's at with all that now, though. Again I'm cool with whatever his sexual preferences are! Anyway, the scene at the end of Riddick that I've mentioned was weird though.

I only have one Hollywood gossip story that I witnessed firsthand. I didn't post it publicly, but I've sent it to at least one poster here that was interested. Hit me up if such salacious stuff interests you!

Fortunately not personal, merely observational... but my friends and I suddenly realized just what kind of party we had been invited to. On the flip side, at the same party we watched ancient Gene Simmons (KISS) holding court with like 6-8 really hot girls, all mesmerized listening to his stories of times past.

Look at you hanging out with celebs "in the wild."
