This stuff is pretty common but annoying when it's somewhere prominent like the ridge of the nose. I've been fortunate to find pristine copies of my favorite figures but they are definitely the exception.

I wouldn't mess with any of the custom cowls for this right now as they're all a significant downgrade IMO and I have them all except Ben Choi.

It would be much better to gently sand and repaint this cowl than buying a new one. I'd even be willing to offer that service for owners of this since the character is important to me and I want people to have a good copy of it.
Hey bud let me ask you used an air brush to paint the cod piece know of any paint that works the same that I can brush on I don't own an airbrush.

Also, is it just mine, or does the cowl head feel a little more towards the “looser” side when riding on the black magnetic neck piece?

I can only recommend the same Vallejo Air Black but I doubt you will be happy with a brushed on result. You can get airbrush and compressor sets for as little as $60-$70 that will do a job like this just fine and theyre great to have around for quick little repairs like this.

The only time I get irked about waiting is if I've paid for something in-full. Otherwise, it doesn't bother me too much. And nowadays, I don't even PO "Day 1" as it seems to not matter at all if you do. It looks to not have any bearing on if you'll actually be in the first batch and HT figures rarely sell out quickly anymore so there's really no rush to PO. Sometimes it even pays to wait even longer as many HT tend to go on discount a few months after release. It's the 3rd Party stuff that tends to sell out quicker these days.

There was an HL reseller store that listed their dx19 second batch for 2023. Be prepared for that.

ain’t going to lie, the wait for these is killing my interest in the hobby.
I just cancelled my preorder from Sideshow which was paid in full, because they couldn't tell me when to expect their shipment in. I think when some sellers pop up on evilbay I will snag one from there. A lot of Hong Kong sellers are not sure when the next batch is coming in. Weird.

Sideshow told me that they have no idea when their next batch will come in. Could be around next month that they get them in and that really is just next week.

When I called Sideshow I told them that on a few sites like this that there was some QC issues and some members were filing claims or sending the figure back, and Sideshow said that it was not true and that they are unaware of any problems.

Seriously! What the hell. I'm so done with them going start ordering figures from other places.

I feel really lucky to have gotten the copies that I did when I did. IMO it feels like maybe this should have been delayed but with so many of their releases being delayed they decided to do a limited release of what they had already made.

What they mean is major major issues like the head sculpt for HT Iron Man Mk 85. A lot of people complain over minor issues to which they report to Sideshow. They dont classify those as issues and more of a nitpick.

Exactly this :goodpost:

Not only that, not every customer service rep is going to be in the know of all the things going on with each and every item Sideshow carries. Just look at their site. They carry hundreds if not thousands of products.

It reminds me of the time I ordered the Tron Legacy Lightcycle and there were claims that the rear lights weren't working on many copies from the ones released in HK so I called SS freaking out about what would happen if I got a malfunctioning one. They were like "uuum we haven't heard any of that, but you can get it replace if you want to or get a full refund if that does happen :dunno " I could literally hear the annoyance on their end at such a stupid phone call :lol Granted, I was younger and in the early years of my career (so not being paid much) and it was my most expensive 1/6 purchase at the time. But that was a lesson learned that they really aren't in the community to know these things like we do and/or probably don't even really care. The CS department (like any other store) is just there to find a solution to your problem, that's it.

The heat of interest in this figure is waning now with QC issues and the longer than average wait time.

Maybe when I get my InArt Joker I can decide then. SS will likely still be delivering this by that time.

Don’t let the nitpickers get to you I have three and they’re all in acceptable condition to me. I only fixed the shiny spot on one cod piece because I could, the figure looked great on the shelf either way.

So It's nitpicking because I have an issue with a shiney spot on the cod piece that literally looks like a dab of oil (again it shouldn't be like that) Yet it's not the same as changing the shoulder armour because it's not accurate? Lol no offense not knocking on anyone's work but in all seriousness we pay a lot for these figure at the very least wanting to have these minor (yes you guys are right it's not that serious) QC issues fixed isn't a bad thing. Though if anything the wait is what will stop a good amount of people from wanting to order which to that I say not to worry just give it until he actually is available the figure is amazing in the end of the day.

Well, this thing is just starting to ship... so let's see how the QC thing goes. Maybe these early problems will be solved in later batches.
That's also something I forget about HT seems to have a track record of having different quality in production for their batches. Like batch 2 of Endgame Captain America had a weird issue with the collar vs the first batch. But then second batches can have more corrections.
