I bought this but it looks a bit rubbish. Just me or has he got a pencil neck and old man trousers pulled up way too high. Urine stains on the front of the trousers and he’d complete the look of my grandad. Hardly intimidating is he.

With Sideshow's video and the blogger shots my impressions so far is that it looks more like a toy action figure than a sixth-scale representation of a character. I don't mean that in any duragatory sense, just that with the exaggerated proportions (long neck, gangly limbs), ill-fitting trousers and simple exposed joints, it just looks very toy-like. Granted, that look veers pretty close to the character's appearance in the show. It makes for a jarring and unique figure. Add that cheap looking box and we have a very expensive toy here. Am interested to see more photos and videos of it.

You would think that Hot Toys would be trying to step up their game with people like Queen Studios jumping into 1/6 scale... but this proves they could give two ***** less. Figure looks like a really bad bootleg. I'd be pissed if I had pre-ordered him.

I wondered what on earth was going on with those trousers too in the Sideshow video but it's only because his belt thing isn't supposed to be removed and would always cover that seam.

Not sure why they removed the belt, as that is part of his mechanical legs, so even if he did go shirtless, he'd have that on.

Sideshow strikes again lol

Y'all this has a "Not sure if serious" future meme writ large all over it. What the hell, who gave final approval on this. They should be curbstomped or at least lose office coffee privileges

Oh God, I was a little excited about it until seeing that Sideshow video. It looks like a kit-bashed figure. Tried to cancel my po but the Hong Kong seller wasn’t having any of it. There’s a lesson to be learnt there about pre-ordering figures you’re 50/50 (at best) on. This one looks destined to hit discount with the likes of Toys Wonderland and several of them will likely pop up on eBay below retail. The only thing going for it is 1) it’s Maul & 2) it pairs with Ahsoka.

Who is the HK seller?

I mean this figure was announced a couple years before Queen/InArt even came into existence so..

The more I look at the figure though I am seeing more problems. Curious how it will actually look once people get it in hand.

People seem to expect HT to just whip up something mindblowing in a week. I doubt many of them realise just how much work goes into making these figures.

Why are we acting surprised. This is the body shown in the protos.

Nobody should we surprised by any of the nitpicking because this thread is just on schedule since initial releases have the most critical comments. Plus, I don't recall many people on here and in other groups jumping for joy to finally have a shirtless Maul figure to display anyway, so any mentioned right now are just valid observations, as far as I'm concerned. The criticism is what it is right now.

Give this thread a little while longer for people get him in hand and I'm sure a lot more flattering pics will pop up. And If you wanna take it a step further, give it a year or two and people will be throwing $400+ for this figure because they "slept" on it:lol

Yup exactly that. Once it sells out at every retailer, all of sudden it's going to be super valuable with ppl asking "anywhere still have this available? I missed out and don't want to pay eBay prices."

With that said, I only want that brownish display stand for a custom so I'm not upset by what I'm seeing

That and I’m so sick of people acting like InArt is the greatest thing to ever grace sixth scale. They’ve announced one whole figure, which hasn’t released yet. It’s just ridiculous.

Hot Toys aren’t perfect, but they’re pretty good and have a massive amount of figures released or in production that Queen can’t even compare to.

What? Are you saying that InArt isn't going to put Hot Toys out of business and that HT will be just fine?

And that a decent competitor might even be good for Hot Toys going forward?

Craziness.
