According to figures on Box Office Mojo, NWH finished the year with a worldwide box office greater than Shang-Chi, Eternals and Black Widow combined - that's crazy!
Based on the projections for this weekend, NWH's domestic gross is already @$609M, which puts it #10 all-time and only $69M behind Infinity War (#4). Seems very likely now it'll pass IW, and it could pass #3 Black Panther's $700M. I knew it would rake in the bucks, but not to this extent.

This is the weirdest thing ever. I hated the movie but it deserves best picture. I’m a hardcore Spider-Man fan to the day I die but no way in hell this deserves best picture. Best superhero movie of the year definitely. But come on it’s not that kinda film nor does it want to be.
I agree with him on the Oscars need to add more popular movies to its nominee list as a way to rescue its audience that has been declining year after year.
Its more of a marketing thing, NWH is not a good movie but is the best box office of 2021 afterall.

But we all know that Spielberg's West Side Story or Kenneth Branagh's Belfast will win best picture this year.

Nwh is a good movie and if I was in charge of the Oscars almost every comic film would win best picture. But of course we all know sonic was robbed last year.

Not the right of place.

You know going to Shang Chi, Black Widow and Eternals I didn’t think the MCU couldn’t capture rememberable special moments like these from EG, again …

But they did..and I was wrong

So freaking true. :thud:

Remember when for decades all we had was Superman: The Movie and Batman 89? Now each *studio* has its own crown jewel for their respective fans.

Marvel: IW
WB: TDK
Fox: Logan
Sony: NWH

Not to mention the many BB's, TWS's, IM's, Avengers 1's, EG's, SM2's, DOFP's, and so on.

Sure we scoff at the current state of the MCU, DCEU, or what have you but at the end of the day it's all about the top tier theatrical experiences (which we've had many times over now) and having the cream of the crop in our blu-ray collections. They could just cancel all future superhero flicks and I'd be content with what we already have for the rest of my life. :yess:
