Classic Khev. :rotfl

Boba Fett's original concept/design was of a super-soldier or super-stormtrooper of some kind, not a bounty hunter or a Mandalorian. (Or Italian).

I believe the colour they decided on was meant to illustrate a gray area between good guys and bad guys, or at least between Empire and Rebellion.

Supercommando *from* Mandalore my friend. :)

Apocrypha! Heresy!

(errr....when was that published? I'm not familiar with that particular set of scripture.)

ESB Sketchbook from 1980. :) After watching the movie on the big screen this and the ESB Storybook were all I had to pour through for years on end until the VHS finally hit in 1982.

George ...kept the armor design when needing looks for [Boba Fett]

Yes, I believe this to be true.

Back in 1980 or so, I remember vague mentions that the Mandalorians figured prominently in the Clone Wars. I was never sure if they were the Empire's army (meaning bad guys) or if they were a heroic race that battled against the Empire's clone army. But I got the idea that the Mandalorians were a dangerous and mean race, I suppose that may have come from the fact that their armor was so intimidating that Boba Fett chose it as a scare tactic.

I have no idea how that changed to accommodate the cartoon many decades later.

Boba himself would tell you he is not Mandalorian. And so? People say this like "if I tell them the Fetts are not Mandos, this will torpedo their fan-base!!" [not really referring to you here, just speaking in general] Real talk: fans of these characters for the most part just do not *care* about Disney's attempts to revoke, what, like 35+ years of history?

Speaking for me, I do not give one flying confabulation what Disney or Lucas says, since when either entity decides a reversal of this decision suits their purposes best... well, that's what'll happen.

Back on topic: SSC when you putting this guy up. Now is good.

Disney has nothing to do with it, just to be clear.

Most current comic book. Explanation starts bottom left paragraph.

First I've heard of a direct early reference to them being *from* Mandalore.

*looks suspiciously at the heretic*

I had the large format ESB comic book, whenever it was that came out, and the trading cards. Never had any of the art books etc. Too busy getting toys. ;)

The HT March of the Mandos and Clones begun it has.

Unlike previous lines, it's what seems to be selling the way SW stuff should be selling. Hopefully, they've moved on from being scared of ST stuff and know they're back to printing money with these two lines. I know I'm ready to spend on SW Hot Toys like it was 2016 again:lol

Personally, I'm not going too deep in Mandos nor Clones... so I fear these repeats will be taking spots away from more original Star Wars figures like Tank Trooper or Death Star Trooper.

But on the plus side, I'm trying to cut back my Star Wars collection, so this should help greatly in my efforts. I mean, I really have everything I would want to display at this point short of HT Jabba (which is unlikely) and a few aliens like Greedo (which HT won't make) and the only other PT character I want, General Grievous (which HT will make I hope).

This. If the Shore and Patrol are an proof of unique Troopers selling out, This would be EASY money for HT.

Yeah, we're definitely on opposite ends. I just purged everything not Boba Fett and Din Djarin so I have nothing but empty space right now.

I've even got rid of all the non live-action Fett's like the Animated, Proto, Pre Pro, etc. so I have nothing but clear shelf space ahead for these TV show Mando's. I think Rex may be the only non-Mando related figure I plan on getting as both Ahsoka and Maul are technically in their Mandalore themed costumes.

Seems a lot are passing on this figure, but come Mando S2 and they show up again in an episode I wonder how many will change their mind :lol

Sounds like that's what Wor needs to do. It's appropriate too "The Great Purge"

It’s not a bad figure, but I don’t really feel the need for it. I’m trying to not get a bunch of these newer side characters. Mainly focusing on the core characters. I’m also similar to Wor-Gar on Clones. I’ll get Cody and Rex most like and they’ll be it. Just don’t need a ton of these characters that are essentially variations on the same thing.

There's no way I could throw out Darth Vader or OT Stormtroopers for multiple Boba Fetts.

I can't even buy two of something, like Royal Guards, without some variant.
