I thought that the entire thing with Rhodey stealing the Mark II suit was very poorly done.
How did he get into it? I didn't see any of the mechanical junk that usually helps put on or take off the suit anything, it seemed to me like he just slipped on the boots like you would any pair of slippers... and then you don't see much of the rest.
Then when he was in it, I understand that he could very easily beat up Tony Stark with no problems. But how did he know how to use the hand-repulsor-beam thing? He held his hand up for a while before actually shooting, standing almost motionless in the same position for a few seconds, THREATENING to shoot, but not actually shooting. So if the repulsor is not activated by putting your hand up, then how is it activated? There aren't exactly any buttons you could press, since it's hands free. And if it was voice activated, how would he know the proper voice command? Also, since JARVIS was theoretically a key component in the suit, even if Rhodey did know the proper voice commands, if JARVIS is so high-tech, why would JARVIS listen to Rhodey's commands if he's supposed to listen only to Tony Stark?
So even if we get past the ridiculous impossibility of Rhodey getting into the suit, and then firing the repulsor beam, HOW THE FRAK DID HE JUST FLY AWAY???? I mean it's one thing to know how to shoot, but it's another thing entirely to know how to activate the repulsors in a way so that he could actually fly straight, and know how to go in the right direction.
AND, if JARVIS was in the suit, why couldn't JARVIS keep the suit from flying away and being stolen by someone else?
If JARVIS wasn't in the suit, how was the targeting system still be there and how would Rhodey fly it without JARVIS's help?
And even if we get past all THOSE problems, HOW WAS THE SUIT BEING POWERED????
I know it was one of Tony's arc reactors, but he couldn't have redesigned his arc reactor every time he redesigned his suit could he? WHY would Tony Stark leave an arc reactor conveniently sitting in each of his suits if he intended only to use them for himself?
And even if he did make a new arc reactor for each suit, AND left them in the suits, how would they fit properly in the suit if they're designed for a MAN WITH A HOLE IN HIS CHEST???? Probably 90% of the length of the arc reactor (from front to back) is shortened by it being inside of Tony Stark while he's wearing an Iron Man suit, but Rhodey has no such hole to put the arc reactor in his chest, so HOW WOULD IT FIT IN THE SUIT PROPERLY?
The whole entire thing is an illogical mess. Oh yeah, and Natalie/Scarlet Johannson or whoever mentioned that Tony has a series of redundencies to prevent unauthorized use of the suits... like what? Voice recognition? No. Retinal scans? No. NOT LEAVING THE FREAKING ARC REACTORS IN EACH OF THE SUITS? No! All he had to protect the suits from "unauthorized use" was apparently the password in the glass door. But wait a second, apparently Pepper Pots and Rhodey both knew that password, but don't worry, I'm sure no one else would get to the suits. Oh yeah, except it's a GLASS DOOR, which I believe has been broken before in the first movie.
I understand the decision to mess up continuity by taking Terrence Howard away and replacing him with SOMEONE WHO ISN'T EVEN THE SAME COLOR BLACK, that's ok I suppose, but REALLY? Couldn't they think somewhat LOGICALLY about the whole "Rhodey steals the suit" thing?
I did however enjoy very much hearing Daft Punk's "Robot Rock" during the fightscene, and also before that, they played that song that goes "It take two to make a thing go right" and last time I visited my mother, she wouldn't stop blasting that on her laptop, she said it was one of her favorite songs LOL... odd that Robot Rock is one of my favorites... But the other song wasn't! LOL
I saw it twice and feel that it was a good movie with a couple questionable points. I still think the first one was better, but either way I won't have a problem popping either one of these in the player to watch on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy.
