IRON MAN 2
IRON MAN MARK IV WITH SUIT-UP GANTRY
1/4TH SCALE COLLECTIBLE SET

Tony Stark designed the Mark IV armor to replace Mark III armor after it was heavily damaged in a fight, and showcased it with a dazzling landing to the Stark Expo in Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 2. Designed to succeed the older, damaged model, the armor features a slightly different design from its predecessor, having a more streamlined appearance and edged armor plates.

On the first day of the New Year, Hot Toys is excited to share with fans the highly poseable and movie-accurate 1/4th scale Iron Man Mark IV with Suit-Up Gantry collectible set from Iron Man 2 collection as the latest creation, where possibly a centerpiece of your collection!

The beautifully engineered and massive 1/4th scale figure measures approximately 48.6cm tall is crafted based on Robert Downey Jr’s screen appearance as Tony Stark/ Iron Man from the movie, features a newly developed Tony Stark helmeted head sculpt, an interchangeable helmeted head with LED-light up function, skillfully applied metallic Hotrod red and gold colored armor with gorgeous detailing, LED lights shine through various areas of armor, and articulated armors designed to reveal interior mechanical design or hidden weapons.

The highly-accurate Suit-Up Gantry collectible features remarkable movie-accuracy, multiple LED light-up areas located on mechanical arms and gantry platform, substantive details with realistic cable and wire design, layers of paint applications, and articulations design allowing fans to recreate the iconic grand entrance scene.

This is the great opportunity to expand your Hall of Armor collection!

Because it's the same Tony Stark sculpt they've been doing for years. This entire figure is one lazy upscaled reissue.

I don't think HT will be getting any of my money this year. Exo 6 will be getting a ton because they actually care about the license, value and quality.

If they'd done the un-helmeted, hungover head sculpt, I may have actually considered it. Pass.

A killer RDJ sculpt would definitely have made this more appealing, especially for the price tag they will hang on this. Cool but not something I badly want at this stage.

The gantry looking like a separate listing is cool!

Would go well with already issued 1/4 scales!

been trying to sell my 1/4 Iron Man and War Machine, cause of room, but I’m moving soon and this def has me reconsidering if I wind up with more room.

the 1/6 scale of this I used to have, and it was a great look.

What a way to start the new year; rereleases but this time upscaled! You know, I was wondering how I'd juggle all the figures I figured HT would release from this year's films and shows, but at this point I'm thinking anything beyond the main character(s) will be stretching it. Not that's ever been anything but the truth, really. I don't know, I suppose the barrage of Mandalorian figures made me conjure such silly thoughts. I'll be lucky if I get a Doctor Fate from Black Adam, so I hardly think I should worry about a hypothetical Gruffudd Reed from an unconfirmed cameo in a Doctor Strange movie...

Rant aside, it does look cool. I always wanted to buy the 1/6th version but I never had the space, nor could I justify the purchase, as it'd have a specific display option, and getting it yet not using the gantry would be nonsensical. It's a piece I think one gets if they have multiple Iron Man already, or if they need a single, memorable representation of him but do not plan on pairing him with any other figure.

Based on the photo sets looks like they are offering the gantry separately as well, guess so you could put a Mk3 in there if you wanted. I imagine the two pack is going to be $$$

That gantry is going to have a massive footprint. Wow. Seems like an extra niche item for an already niche scale.

And I get the Mk 4 is the correct pairing with the gantry but I’ve always found it to be a little dull compared to the other Phase 1 suits.

A 1/4 Mk 6 is probably inevitable at this point. That would be tempting.

They really should’ve made a 1/4 Mk 46 by now. They could’ve made a deluxe version with a 1/4 Captain America shield to give to the 1/4 Spider-Man Tech Suit as a Civil War pairing to help move those.

Granted at this point I never want them to make anything Mk 46 again side from a Cosbaby just to piss off that one person who comments “Reissue Mk 46” at every Hot Toys picture.

That’s a huge space eater, but it looks cool and I’m sure there are lots of IM fans that will pick it up. 1/6 Gantry is enough for me. That said, I would be interested in picking up a few 1/4 MCU, DCEU and Star Wars figures in the future if Hot Toys we’re to actually commit to building out some of these lines.
