Kind of defeats the use of the word 'incentive' .
They will I doubt want £150 for the figure ! Total rip off.

I don't think it's a rip off at all. BCs has had some very nice incentive accessories they've come up with for their figure sets. The incentives (as the name implies) are designed to help drive sales. These items are not exclusives that are packaged separately and labeled as such.

Anyone that has been collecting the Dr. Who line, knows that once the initial sales of a boxed set has run it's course, BCS has been able to make many of the incentives available, albeit in limited quantities. Once they are gone, they are gone. This is a nice thing for them to do for the fans who might want just the individual items. There's never any guarantee that they will do this with every release, but so far it has worked out well. This is something that many collectors, myself included appreciate. :)

In other news, still haven't heard anything back from Big Chief about my different coloured TARDIS roof:

Yep, same issue. They just didn't apply any of the dark wash or whatever it is to the top. It's funny...they replied back immediately, but nothing more since I pushed back. I guess I will have to try and call them

I really want to get one of these but I'm being put off by what I've been reading about the different coloured roof/body and the wonky doors etc. Is it really noticeable?

It's a lot of money to spend on something if the quality is poor, especially if the customer service isn't great if there's a problem.

Sounds like it's a gamble on what you're going to get and if you can get anyone to respond. Mine looks just like that one above. It's quite a distinct difference in the photo and in person. And that's just the roof problem

i had a wonky door. It took a week for them to respond. They arranged a courier to collect it and then they sent out a replacement. The one I received was also faulty. The actual police box sign was misaligned so it didnt light up correctly (see below). I contacted them again expecting to get the "its within our tolerances" excuse but within a couple of hours they replied explaining all I needed to do was push it out from behind and replace it with one they will send me which arrived the following day. Ok, I had to fix it myself but I was happy to do so. I really didnt want to send that one back only to get one with blemishes or something which is something BCS dont consider to be a fault and wont do anything about besides refund you and you send it back at your expense (most likely). Im guessing the incomplete painted roof falls in that category.

According to one of the BCS guys in the facebook group, only 12 out of the 1000 have needed to be swapped/parted out. He did admit it may be more but was unaware, im guessing due to those customers not complaining or still yet to receive theirs.

Its taken a while to get it all sorted, but at least Im happy now and have a decent 10s TARDIS.

From what I can gather, there are now less than 50 of this particular TARDIS left in stock. Sadly no way to tell if they are good ones or not

It's been a week and I've heard nothing back. All I wanted was a reasonable approximation of what was advertised and paid for, is that really too much to ask?

Man, all these customer service horror stories have got me worried. Mine is supposed to be delivered sometime today. Fingers crossed!

I really dont know what to suggest other than hounding them. Keep sending emails, comment on their facebook page or phone them if you reside in the UK. Sometimes they are very quick to reply to some but others they just toss aside. The sad thing is that they dont see a light blue lid as a fault. I wonder if you messaged them saying that now an LED doesnt work, how quickly they would reply back and say they will swap it. Obviously you will need to show a photo that is the case.

I for one will not be buying from them directly ever again. In fact, I wont be buying any of their products again. Ive had enough of the poor quality and I suspect the 9th doctor will require a repaint if the previous 10 and 11 doctors are anything to go by. All I want now is the robe incentive that comes with the weasel faced rose and thats it, after that, Im out.

hope you get a good one shadowx81.

Even a ten quid TARDIS cookie jar can manage to paint the lid the same basic colour as the body, so I refuse to accept that a £250 'high end collectible' can't manage to achieve likewise. I mean the one I got is nowhere near close! :banghead

I'd post pics of how mine arrived but I don't want to look at those again. I'm sure some here saw them in the facebook group.

You'll have to buy credit, but I'm sure plenty of you guys have some; Skype is a good way to call internationally. That's the best way I had been able to resolve issues in the past. Very quickly too. Speaking to a person cuts down a lot of the interim time.

Not going to bother with this now.
I'll stick with my 12th Doctor version which I am more than happy with

I'll just buy the jammies separately when they are available !!

Try double that. Ive already seen them say the will have a limited amount of complete figures with body which they will sell at a premium. There will be less than the 12th doctor convention exclusive. They are due to be sold once all the parts have been released as "incentives". The box will also be plain too. So its nothing special or worth the premium in that sense. No idea how they will sell it. Will it be a raffle, convention exclusive or a first come first served?

It's really unfortunate seeing how many of Ten's TARDISES (or....TARDI?) are having so many issues.

Very easy to say when you aren't one of the ones affected...

In other news, heard back from Big Chief, so the wheels are in motion, so hopefully it all works out in the end. That said, looks like I am going to have to go considerably out of pocket to do so. :horror

Still, if it comes down to it I'd rather pay more money for something I'm happy with, than stick with something that I'll never be satisfied with in its current form.

It's easy to say because it's true. Just because 3 guys post their defects doesn't mean you represent the majority. Sorry.

You shouldn't be paying anything extra if the item is truly defective, which, if the roof doesn't match, then it isn't what you paid for. Maybe they can offer you some store credit or something as compensation?
