Personally I don't see the point of a full armour being diecast. It is heavy and stresses the joints leaving an arm not being able to hold a pose.

I just don't get this whole "Diecast" magic word crap. Sure when you hold it in hand it's heavy, big deal. 95% of the time it's standing on a shelf.

Personally I'd prefer it only located in the legs where needed to enable better balance and in places where it is really needed for visual effect, although metallic paints are very convincing.

Just my 5 cents to put a reality check on "DieCast"

I fully agree. Diecast was just a way for Hot Toys to start charging more for Iron Man figures.

The best of the plastic Iron Man figures towards the height of Iron Man 3 still hold up well. The later diecast Iron Man figures just benefit from improved scale, design, and engineering more so than diecast parts. The figures are still mostly plastic anyway.

People perceive weight with value but that's just an illusion. Diecast metal is cheap. There's nothing really on these figures that can be made in diecast that can't be made equally well in plastic.

The only metal that should be in figures is to reinforce joints for heavier figures. Asking for diecast armor and panels is just asking a company to make the figure more expensive so it can weigh more.

I'm all for diecast on an Iron Man figure, but Batman's armor in this movie didn't really have that heavy metallic look to it, and was more like the same Kevlar body armor we saw all over TDK Batman. So I don't see the need for it to be diecast.

The only exception might be the batarang on his chest.

It’s all about the realism for me if the BVS Armor Batman is diecast I will instantly believe he can kick HT Superman’s ass.

….unless it’s the limited edition “Whispering Martha” HT Superman, at which point Armored Batman will melt like the Wicked Witch of the West lol.

Yeah, they do a pretty good job of marketing it that way and they still sold with the popularity of the character and films. Not that there were alternatives.

They’re still really nice Iron Man and War Machine figures, and I have a couple. But it really was just a clever way to charge $400 for 1/6 figures.

For long term durability, hard plastic is the best choice since it’ll outlast us all. I wish most everything on a Hot Toys figure were plastic or fabric.

There's a lot of collectors in the transformers community who want all their figures to have diecast everywhere yet complain when their figure topples over and the plastic parts break from the impact of the metal parts, has loose joints and paint chipping.

I'd prefer a well painted but quality plastic that looks like metal than actual metal parts for aesthetics. To me, it's more impressive when plastic is painted so well that you can't tell that it's not real metal. Like you said, metal should be used to reinforce joints.

I like die-cast objects when they are done well - a good example are the accessories for a 1/6 Constantine figure by Thunder Toys - the fact that they are completely metal and still have so much detail really elevates both them and the figure.
The die-cast Iron Men? I know they have some metal in them somewhere, but frankly I don't see why they bother when it isn't the whole armor - I just dont get the appeal there, all it does is make them heavy/brittle, the outer armor is still painted plastic. If the entire armour was made 100% metal than that would be a prestige piece to me, worthy of the distinction made. Same reason I prefer when the actual material of costumes are used for their figures - it makes it feel more like a shrunken version of the original to me, which is afterall what we are all really looking for
As for this Batman - are there even that many metal parts to his costume? Other than the Bat-insignia on hi chest and the wrist mounted grapples?

My die cast iron man 3 armor broke not to long ago. The arm just snapped right off one day. Meanwhile my plastic mark 7 is just fine. Very weird tbh. I have no idea how that happened

That's the super duper premium 5 set figure. Then there's the uber ultra super duper deluxe 5 set figure that includes a rooted hair Bruce. For the regular release, you only get TDK.

Joking aside, I hope they're 1/6. If that's a well done TDK 1/6, HT will have cancellations to look forward to.

Going back to the silhouette, I'm assuming QS is planning to show that they can do a better sculpt than HT and just troll them maybe? The other thing, was that pose significant in the movie or was it in the movie at all?
