Just going to leave this here because I'm not sure there's a better place to put it.

DC Comics announced today that they're going to publish new comics set in the universes (single universe? :wink1:) of the Superman 1978 and Batman 1989 movies.

The character designs for the Batman 1989 comic are epic. They're a pitch perfect evolution and blend of the 1989 / 1992 costumes, and the BTAS aesthetic (note the indigo inner cape lining). It's literally the Kenner transforming Bruce Wayne figure outfit on a comic version of Keaton + The BTAS Bruce Wayne build and suit drawn in a realistic style with Michael Keaton's face on it. The Bullock and Commissioner Gordon designs are great too -- Gordon especially looks like Pat Hingle in the animated universe...in a realistic style that fits the movie universe. Loving the 'stache addition on Michael Gough's likeness Alfred. It's also cool to see them pulling inspiration from Miller's DKR and Batman Beyond ROTJ with the Dee Dee designs. Batdance Prince and Jokerz gang members are there too!

Descriptions don't do it justice. See for yourself in the beautiful art of Joe Quinones:

I CAN NOT wait. Hopefully this prompts Mafex or S.H. Figurarts to make more figures (and vehicles! -- 6-inch figure scale Batmobile and Batwing 1989!) in this universe.

Could this possibly bridge the gap between what happened then and in the new flashpoint movie! Let?s hope!!

No. Maybe someone else here knows how, but I do not see it happening with these boots.

I had the two on the same detolf shelf for years, but I just had Reeves in a flight pose. So I never felt Batman looked short.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I had all the extenders and pegs everyone recommend. Unfortunately, the boots sat too loose for my liking around the calf area.

For now, it will be a short Batman. Even though it?s technically accurate as Reeve was 6?4 and Keaton was about 5?10-11.

Hopefully the rumors of Keaton reissue come true and get a taller figure.

If the ball joints are loose you could apply nail varnish on the balls to make them grip a bit more, or you could easily add packing paper so they won?t slide

Rumors of a Keaton reissue? I've heard nothing.

An actual re-do would get my attention though. Armor pieces on an actual bodysuit like the real costume.

But we all know that will never happen.

Just saying what was said on Jedha YouTube video with Justin. I?m not taking it as truth, but you never know.

The figure could definitely use another shot. I line my d 09, but it?s a statue more than a figure.

The joints are fine. It?s just the top of the boots leave space and doesn?t fit properly.

So where is this lovely 1/4 cape from? Is there any way to use it with the die-cast rods for the iconic "spread bat wings" pose?

Also, did you repaint the headsculpt or is this the second release? Looks really nice. I still wonder if any of the upcoming 1/4 Burton re-releases will use photo-printing. As far as I know Randy hasn't commented on this so far.

2nd release head!

No cape rod but I still make it work to my liking

I'm excited to see his new suit in the Flash/Flashpoint. But the 89 and returns suits are too iconic to ignore if they ever get reissued. If rumors are true and Keaton is now the "main" Batman in the multiverse bringing everyone together as DC's Nick Fury, then these suits represent him in his prime :rock2
