:nono No, no, no, my little Microcebus... Far from you these egocentric ideas. :D
Certainly, your genetic heritage is remarkable (or should I say that it is, for the least, remarked?...) but it is far from being a universal reference!... :lol
:1-1:

What are you trying to say.

Hey, it's true, I also wonder it... :lol :lol :lol
Tell me, with all the jokes that we've done, you must have an images bank fairly impressive on the Microcebus now, right? :D

This isn't completely relevant to the discussion at hand, but I guess at this point there isn't really a discussion at hand, and I felt this was the most appropriate thread to post this.

I just wanted to say that I've been looking for a DX Batman for weeks and weeks and weeks, and yesterday morning I saw that one of the Batmans I'd had my eye on on Ebay had disappeared. This is a really hard figure to find for a decent price -- the one that had disappeared yesterday was going for $300, and with a shipping price of $21 it was overall a pretty good deal. These figures regularly go for between $350 to $400; on Amazon it's listed at a mind-boggling $600. So you can imagine my disappointment when my "back-up" figure had disappeared.

I did a quick search -- in my misery -- and found one, brand new, never displayed, listed by a Top-rated Seller at $250 with a very reasonable shipping rate. I obviously leaped on that. So, for those of you still looking for this figure, don't despair yet, there are still great deals out there. Another figure I had my eye on for awhile went yesterday for $255 with $30 shipping. In one day I saw two DX Batman's go for a total under $300, which is pretty unbelievable.

Anyhow, I don't have a lot of places or people to talk about this with who'd actually understand the significance of getting a good deal on a DX Batman so I thought I'd share my enthusiasm and excitement here. It took forever to find, but it was worth it! :elefant

Haha, that was you? I figured someone wised up and bought it. That's funny. Well, I'm obviously glad you did or I wouldn't have found the one I did. So I guess it all worked out. :duff Why'd you pull it? Decided to keep it or you're upping the price?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

The only problem you may face with picking one up from eBay... You can't be sure its from the DCD batch.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I've been watching the 'bay for a DX Bats, but have never really felt compelled to actually buying it...
I think I might just wait for the third movie and see what the new suit/figure looks like.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

What's the DCD batch?

It's also known as the much-sought after 3rd batch from HT. This particular batch has corrected the oily abs problem by using hard plastic for the abs. It's called DCD because this is the version that DC Direct imported in the US. Here in Asia, it's more commonly known as the Third Batch.

Cool, thanks iampoch. Is it automatic that ALL Batmans from the first batch have the abs/arms problem? Or just some? Turns out the one I bought is from the first batch...

Here's the breakdown of DX02 batches :)

1st batch - This is the one that first came out in HK. Oily abs are the least of your worries. The ears of the cowl are misaligned and the rubber peels.

2nd batch - corrects most of the problems of of the 1st batch except for the oily abs. I think all figures (or at least majority) experience the oil leaking. I've heard about some of the figures not leaking after some time.

3rd batch - corrects the oily abs problem. I've heard some figures in this batch leaks at the biceps, though. Didn't happen to mine so I don't think all figures are affected.

BTW it could be that your item is 2nd batch instead of 1st :)

Yeah, you gotta be careful and read the descriptions. And if it doesn't have a description, chances are you should be careful and stay away from it.

Thanks for the info. Wow, so that sucks. I went from being elated to realizing I jumped the gun. My only comfort is that I bought it from a Top-rated seller and he's been good about answering my questions, and I don't think he wants a negative feedback score. That, and these things are relatively easy to off-load on Ebay. I'm kind of sick of searching for one though. Hot Toys seems to have a history of screwing up its products. They also sold a replica of Ed-209 from Robocop, every model of which had problems with the "face" rubber piece peeling off. For a company that specializes in selling specialty toys...well, they kind of suck a$$.

If you bought the item from an official retailer, you could actually ask HT for a replacement body. I think you'll just need to show the receipt. In any case, a 2nd batch DX02 isn't as bad as it seems. The leaking oil will stop in time. Personally, it's recommended that you gently wipe it (emphasis on gently) instead of letting it be :)
