Those first two screen grabs were ones I made for the original Aliens thread so long ago.

I watched the film again a few days ago and noticed in one shot an etched "D-7" appeared to be on the visor. I knew it wasn't but it was confusing. It didn't appear again until a later shot of Ripley looking out a window and then it was off center so it must have been some sort of window marking...

this would be an amazing figure. great companion piece to Dallas and Kane.

Always had the hots for Weaver after seeing this scene in Alien. And you KNOW Hot Toys would package her with squishy breasts. hehe

I disagree. Why do you think making a bash of her spacesuit would be easy??? Sure you could make one from Dallas/Kane IF you were prepared to spend that much on another suit and then paint all over it. Besides, maybe folks are expecting this fig to be the next HT Alien release so there's no need to make their own.

Oh I didn't mean anything too different, mainly the colour and perhaps one or two other features. I'm sure they could be altered easily by some....but I for one would not now where to start when trying to make everything white

Got ya... I was thinking it would definitely be up HT alley to reproduce the armor they've already made in white and change whatever do-hickeys might be different.

I'd be quite happy to end my Alien collection with a Ripley figure, an Aliens warrior and Big Chap. I'd love to get a Queen but it just would not be practical for me

I'm kind of doubting the likelihood of a Queen at this point... seems the steam ran out for HT making Aliens products; seem to be on to bigger/current things. Hope I'm wrong, but not holding my breath for a 1/6 Queen.

Something to consider...

Hot Toys visits this site regularly. Anything WE can do to encourage the development or release of this figure sooner than may have been planned is a good thing. There is/was no way to guage the interest generated for HT to make Aliens figures when we had the Monster thread up, but I can tell you with over 100,000 hits, that didn't hurt and may have played a part in HT's decision to produce so many of them.

You mean the same people who posted for over a year about a HT Aliens Ripley before it was announced? For the faint of heart and naysayers, that became true in time, didn't it? And it was the largest thread in SSC history, and it led to an entirely new Forum. It was based on a leaked picture, but if anyone thinks HT won't make a Lucky Star Ripley, you are mistaken IMO.

I think it may be next and if it is, it is already in development...

I placed a ? in the Thread Title for the non believers.

What? Did you really just say Cameron came up with the acid for blood thing?

If there was any blood from the Alien it would have been sucked out of the airlock with everything else.

And Acid for blood was in the original "Starbeast" Script, The "Alien" Script and the "Alien" film. As I recall it nearly decimated the Nostromo... Just because we didn't see the adult Alien bleed, doesn't mean it didn't have acid for blood. Also, Ash explained this to the Crew. "It's helluva defense mechanism. You don't dare kill it" - Parker

SYNOPSIS

En route back to Earth from a far part of the galaxy, the crew of the
starship SNARK intercepts a transmission in an alien language,
originating from a nearby storm-shrouded planet.

Mankind has waited centuries to contact another form of intelligent
life in the universe -- they decide to land and investigate. Their
search takes them to a wrecked alien spacecraft whose doors gape open
-- it is dead and abandoned. Inside they find, among other strange
things, the skeleton of one of the unearthly space travellers.

Certain clues in the wrecked ship lead them across the hostile surface
of the planet to a primitive stone pyramid, the only remnant of a
vanished civilization. Beneath this pyramid they find an ancient tomb
full of fantastic artifacts. Lying dormant in the tomb are centuries-
old spores, which are triggered into life by the men's presence. A
parasite emerges and fastens itself to one of the men's faces -- and
cannot be removed.

An examination by the ship's medical computer reveals that the
creature has inserted a tube down his throat, which is depositing
something inside him. Then it is discovered that the parasite's blood
is a horribly corrosive acid which eats through metal -- they dare not
kill it on the ship.

Ultimately it is dislodged from its victim and ejected from the ship,
and they blast off from the Hell-planet. However, before they can seal
themselves into suspended animation for the long voyage home, a
horrible little monster emerges from the victim's body -- it has been
growing in him, deposited there by the parasite... and now it is loose
on the ship.

A series of ghastly adventures follow. They trap it in an air shaft
and a man has to crawl down the shaft with a flamethrower -- it tears
a man's head off and runs away with his body -- a man is crushed in
the air lock door and the ship loses most of its air in a terrific
windstorm -- another man is burned to death and then eaten by the
creature -- and another is woven into a cocoon as part of the alien's
bizarre life cycle.

Finally there is only one man left alive, alone on the ship with the
creature, and only six hours till his air runs out; which leads to a
climax of horrifying, explosive jeopardy, the outcome of which
determines who will reach Earth alive -- man or alien.


Btw, I emailed HT today regarding any progress on this Figure. Maybe it would be better if we kept the focus on that as that is the intention here.
