The original wasn't so seeing as this is a straight reissue

Also the site says: Battery not included for collectible, three (3) AA batteries are required
It doesn't appear to be a straight re-issue, though. When HT has done true re-issues, the pre order has clearly said "Reissue," and this one doesn't--suggesting something, at least, will be different.

We already know it doesn't come with the shield, so that alone might be why it's not marked as a reissue, though. I certainly don't expect USB myself, but HT has very occasionally surprised us. The DX19 ended up being more improved than it's prototype photos let on, for example. That said, I certainly would not suggest anyone make their purchasing decisions based on any hope the final product will be different from what is advertised, as it probably won't be.

Anyone knows taxes to Europe? Price is pretty cool at Sideshow, but need to know how much is the shipment...

As far as inaccuracies.. I get it but at the same time there’s nothing so wrong that it completely throws it off for me. If I had it I’m sure I’d think it was awesome as would people who came by to visit.

It is a reissue though, there aren't any improvements/changes. Just the cocoon missing

To the UK Sideshow always charge 20% plus high shipping costs. Think you'll find it's much more cost effective to get it from Hong Kong. Hopefully Onesixthkit has it.

Rumor from a collector who visited Secret Base recently is that they were told Hot Toys is going to be tweaking the design on this before release. I’m pretty skeptical on any major changes, so I’m definitely going to be waiting to see what the final production version looks like before making a decision. If it stays as is then I may pass, the inaccuracies plus the basic plastic finish has always given me pause considering how much space the car and the box itself will eat up.

Don’t see them changing anything. The price is very competitive even after a decade because of the reused old molds IMO

- Wrong canopy windows shape
- too short
-too hight
- wrong nose shape and color
- wrong rims color
- wrong right machine gun position
- Lateral air intakes way too big.

But saying that, still think it’s a great vehicle for the price.
Nobody will notice the inaccuracies, except you…

I’ve been waiting for this and had a strong feeing HT would be rereleasing the Batmobile to capitalise on the rejuvenated Keaton appreciation.

So, since I’m now certainly on my way to own one, I figured it was worthwhile checking out JazzInc’s version.
No doubt it will be more accurate, the sleekness is a huge selling point all by itself as HT’s is notably stumpy even before I knew it was undersized. Jazz will also pay more attention to the finer details and the paint application.
However, I don’t necessarily need a flawless representation of what will ultimately be used as an eye catching background accessory to my 89 Jokers and Batman (+ the Mars Toys Penguin and Catwoman I’m hoping will come along soon!) especially now that I’ve estimated the price to me in the U.K.

I can PO HT’s right now for $790 including shipping for KG. Even if I get hit by customs for the first time (due to the huge, heavy box) the total will be $960ish as a worst case scenario.
Jazz’s is $1,499 exc VAT.
After U.K. VAT, shipping and import customs and post office charges, I’d be looking at around $2,305.
That’s more than double HTs which is like asking over 1k extra for 10% more batmobile length. I can’t justify that when there’s a passable ‘budget’ version available.

Now I just need to see who’s selling HT’s domestically and weigh the pros and cons against HK sellers before deciding where to buy from.

strange, i coulda sworn it was originally released for $450.
That's closer to what the Tumbler re-issue was listed for back in 2012 (it actually was $470 at Sideshow). I bought my Tumbler from Corner Store Comics back then for $467 in total ($423+$44 shipping). Those were the days lol. I also recall the 89 Batmobile being over $600, which was too rich for my blood at the time. That plus at the time the Nolanverse was all the rage, so Keaton Bats and this vehicle really didn't fit my limited collection. Of course now I'm so far down the rabbit hole just about ANYTHING fits. :lol

Unless you have plenty of reward points to burn on this, don't buy it from Sideshow - it'll end up being much more expensive than getting it locally.

I know JazzInc is listing their version as being 4” longer and everyone claims the Hot Toys version is too short, but I just have a really hard time believing the car being any bigger in any direction than the Hot Toys version already is would make it more accurate at sixth scale. The Hot Toys car is enormous, like almost comically large. You put Batman next to it and it almost feels like the car must be 1:5 scale.

The vehicle in the film seems big and imposing because of the angles they chose to shoot it at in the close-ups, but any time there’s a chance to see the prop car in person or especially alongside other non-fictional vehicles, the thing is surprisingly small. I mean it was basically a GoKart with a long nose, and Batman and his passenger’s butts are about 2” off the ground.

There are some shots in the films where its relatively tiny size is more apparent.

Haven’t pre ordered yet. Still thinking about it, but most likely will pre order in a week or two.

Yeah, never been happier to have a reliable local store.

JazzInc is also less tall so it’ll emphasise those 4” even more… Do as you will with that statement.

Is it possible there were two or more versions of the Batmobile? One for stationary car-porn shots and another, smaller, more manoeuvrable version for the driving scenes?

Jazz claims to be working from exact measurements.
Either way, I’ve always found the HT one to look amazing regardless of the inaccuracies, which I’m only now becoming aware of thanks to this site.
Thanks again for ruining something I otherwise would have believed was the absolute bee’s knees, by the way.

That seems to happen regularly due to this site :lol This is why I tend to tune out inaccuracies pointed out in the Star Wars threads. I don't want to know about them otherwise it will make me less happy with the Star Wars part of my collection most likely, which I don't want/need ruined for me. I ruin most of the DC stuff for myself already :slap
