I don't have my new Gandalf the White with Shadowfax on display yet, as I don't have the display space for it just yet. But here is a pic of my original Gandalf the White with the new head sculpt that Asmus made available.

Got this beauty today. (Finally had enough in my BBTS Pile of Loot to ship.)
Wow.
This set is GORGEOUS. Just gorgeous. Believe the hype.
You've heard all the raves and they're all true. Tremendous likeness and fantastic hairing job. Shadowfax is a terrific sculpt. I especially like the materials they've used for the outfit, so silky and hangs very believably. Really sells the scale.
Just top scores all around. Bravo, Asmus!
My only issue is that I can't get his head to pop on. I've tried it with the head he came with as well as an extra that I picked up directly from Asmus. Neither one will pop into the socket. I've tried running the end of the neck barbell under hot water, I've tried using a hair dryer on the socket inside the head. Nothing seems to work. Can't get it to pop into place. Considering maybe using a Dremel to grind down the barbell a tiny bit. Or maybe using some earthquake putty to get it to stick.
Anybody else have this issue? Any other fixes/tips I haven't tried or thought of?
EDIT: No sooner did I post, but I got it to go. There's nothing quite so effective as the application of brute force!

Glad you like it, love to see pics whenever you can. I'm waiting for Popcultchas stock to come in, but in no real rush as I know what I will get will be great!
Oh, I'm not much of a photographer at all, and I don't really have a place to set them up to take decent shots. But here's a quick one I snapped with my phone where Gandalf is listing all the reasons why he should get to ride Shadowfax around ... even though he's the king of all horses and probably has, like, a horse country to run instead of hauling a wizard around on his errands.

Thanks mate, I'm sure I will. I think they have sold through their preorders now as he doesn't appear on the site any more. Had some pennies up my sleeve to take the sting out of the purchase, so a great release at a good price is winning imo, especially right now!
I know Asmus released just a haired head of Gandalf the White separately. I wonder if they have any inclination of taking this sculpt and re-working it with the Gandolf the gray hair. Because this sculpt for GTW looks so much better the GTG Crown series head. Would be an instant buy for me.

Even though I got help with the Wife to get this set and the Legolas set a few months back when a slew of bills came in,she has never seen this set on display!!

Had to basically call and ask for invoice. Guy I spoke to said they are still just plugging away at fulfilling orders as stock comes in. Mine is nearly with me but I am away and won't be able to collect it till next week.

Soo.. finally opened and set this beautiful crown gandalf up. It was due to arrive while I was away of course. This is asmus best work followed by gimli imo. Alot of care is evident in the release, and rightly so. The two towers is my favourite in the trilogy, and GtW emergence in the forest is a very memorable scene. The uruks, treebeard, edoras, helmsdeep and the tree attack on sarumans tower are really great. Here is a pic, it's straight out of the film for sure! Very happy to finally have a gandalf figure in the collection
