Personally, I do not think Sideshow will present Stormshadow to us in the version that has the blades in the belt. None of us will know for sure until we see the Pre-Order. But I just can't see it after seeing Snake Eyes and hearing what they had to say about how they are approaching the line.

I can say with a great deal of confidence that if they gave Snake his Ninja tat, I am comfortable that they will not disregard Gung Ho's.

If I were a Ninja ready for combat.. I'd want my knives and stars easily accessable. It's not uncomon to see gear with exposed knives.

For the last time, he's a goddamned Ninja, not a soldier!

People who want a Ninja or fantasy characters (like Destro, Zartan, etc) to adhere to "realistic" modern military gear = SUCK. And if Sideshow feels that way, they FAIL.

I think some have forgotten the Ninja craze of the 80's and what A Real American Hero was about. Or you were born in 1990.

One of the most kick ass movies ever!!!

If SS makes a Golobulous figure then they better darn well give him a modern day utility belt to carry his scepter. Otherwise it would be very unrealistic to have a 20 foot snake-man with no place to carry his valuables.

Good luck getting exact replicas of the old costumes. Maybe you should all watch the preview video again.

When you decide to liquidate after the second figure comes out, let me know. I might be interested in getting cheap duplicates to kitbash.

This is pretty much exactly what the preview video says they are going to do with this line. People "suck" for not getting it, or being excited about the possibilities.

I want Storm Shadow decked out very similiar to Snake Eyes. I would have him come with rappelling gear, bow and quiver, explosives, a selection of knives, silenced hand gun, and two katana... all stored in pouches/holsters/sheaths somewhere on his person. If Sideshow does this, they succeed. If they do the original without any changes, they still succeed. Either way, it will be the coolest 12" Storm Shadow ever created. I will laugh if he has throwing stars sticking out of his waistline, but I will still buy it.

Has anyone seen any news on what style of box will be used? I really hope it is like the Star Wars boxes. I like those a lot!

Ninja with a handgun, that's comedy right there.

As for the box, with all the stuff SE comes with, I think it will be similar to Star Wars. Box art would be kewl it it was a throwback to the painted character/explosion artwork and filecard.

You guys keep bring up "ninjas aren't military" as the argument that SS can't have pouches or a knife sheath. Where do real ninjas store all their smoke bombs and throwing stars and stuff if they aren't allowed to have pouches as part of their design? In their ass?

Because a ninja with short sleeves and no pockets, who is supposed to sneak around undetected wearing polar white from head to toe, is serious business. :lol For a ninja with Shadow in his name, I find it ironic that he isn't able to hide in any.

You guys pretend to ignore the theme they announced in the video in favor of some delusion that they wouldn't dare mess with your favorite ninja. Keep the dream alive at all costs.

Once again:

There's no reason to update Storm Shadow's costume, it looks cool, has the nostalgia factor, and matches pretty close to real world ninja suits. I could see them putting more detail into his quiver setup to hold more weapons but that's pretty much it.

As for box art, it'd be cool if they had a picture of a posed figure with a vintage-style explosion behind him/her.

All I can say is that I am not worried in the slightest. The Sideshow team is talented and loves the source material very much... so I doubt they will destroy any of that.

The way I see this line... it's the characters from the movie we will never see, the GI Joe film as it should have been designed. :duff

Exactly! I now see this line as representing the spectacular live-action GI Joe movie we've all imagined the last 20 years as opposed to the one we're actually getting.
