Hey all,
I'm trying to remove the batteries from all of my Iron Man HT's. I've gotten all of them done (I through VII) except for the Mark IV Chest light. I can unscrew it, but I cannot budge the panel at all. Would love to hear an good ideas on how to remove this panel. Thanks guys!

See that slot below the screw hole, try placing a mini flat head screwdriver into it and wiggle till the battery lid gets lose.

I have an opportunity to pick up the gantry and mark IV for $700 AUD but the right forearm is damaged:

Do you guys think it's worth picking up and how easy would it be to fix?

Looks like the plug broke inside the forearm then they glued it in place . Try lowering the price but it's an easy fix . You can always just buy another armor piece or arm

It's a two minute job to get it out...
Drill a small pilot hole. Then screw in a small screw. Grip it with pliers and pull it out.

That's lowballing.

Just ask for $10-25 off. Like Barry said, it's a quick fix. I would would ask for a small discount, but not much. I assume not too many are in Australia.

Thanks Bonestockbrz, I was thinking of asking him to include shipping in the $700, I've checked the cost based on the box size and total weight and that should be around $25-30.

This set is going for way more than that. If it's just that arm that is damaged, snap it up and don't ask for anymore discounts. It's a bargain, a real bargain.

The glued arm piece though would have my alarm bells ringing, I don't know any collectors that would do that. Make sure the rest of the set is as mint as the seller says. People have very different interpretations of what perfect condition means.

Thanks Rorywan,

I asked for more pictures of the full set and he obliged. I always approach these things with a cautiously optimistic attitude. Sometimes I know this can irritate the seller because I keep asking for photos etc. but It's a lot of cash to throw at something on someone else's word when you don't know them.

I have paid him now so all that remains is to see what arrives.

As I said I'm cautiously optimistic. I've been trawling the web for spare parts just in case but I'm very excited to finally add this piece to my collection.

Oh wow didnt realize the Australian dollar was worth so much less than the american dollar ! Jesus that's a deal. I paid that price for a new one and $650 for a used set...

Yeah the exchange rate has really taken a dive for us recently. It's starting to get difficult to be a HT collector in Australia...

I really do have a mint one with figure, NEVER displayed. Figure never even taken out, as I have second. Reasonable offered considered.

Man this is one I've wanted for a long time but all I really need is the gantry. The price for this thing seems high for me. I totally get it though. Maybe one of the coolest diorama pieces I've seen. For any figure line. Something I would never have expected ten or fifteen years ago.

What's the going rate in usa for a set, or if I can ever find just the gantry?

About $450.
Been sold out for a while, and used to be $360 retail. Marvel Suit-Up Gantry Sixth Scale Figure Environment by Hot | Sideshow Collectibles

From HK: Hot Toys 1 6 Iron Man 2 Suit Up Gantry Collectible MMS 161 | eBay

In the US, but before shipping: Hot Toys 1 6 Iron Man 2 Gantry Action Figure Accessory New | eBay

Ok so I received the set and for the most part it's great. no fading on the figure all the lights work on the MK IV and the gantry etc.

The small rear-right panel on the gantry is loose and won't stay extended without falling over. Not a major issue, it's hardly noticeable and I have it propped against the back of the detolf anyway.

The broken arm peg has been glued into the arm though, need a plan to extract it if I want to repair it properly.

Also a few pieces were missing, the broken forearm piece, the right forearm bottom rocket launcher, the basic black stand and the MK IV instructions. I have contacted the guy about finding/shipping them on to me.

Very happy to have this in my collection at last, it's a stunning piece!
