Short, disfigured and can't talk. What else could happen to this guy. Lose his woman to Duke?

:rotfl

Maybe he should learn from Bazooka and just wait for chicks to be knocked out...

I'm not much of a Trekkie, but isn't this like a scene from Star Trek with Spock mind melding with someone?
It's quite possible that the writers had that in mind, especially given that The Wrath of Khan had just been released the previous year.

Regardless, my 5-year-old self was deeply moved by that scene when I watched it. At the time, I had a grand total of two G.I. Joe comics and a colouring book, none of which had the two characters actually interacting with each other, and I still somehow ended up having the idea that Snake Eyes and Scarlett were Meant To Be forever imprinted on my brain. :p

Ever since I got hooked up with GI Joe because of the upcoming Retaliation movie,
I've been watching some old cartoons.

I'm now starting to appreciate the classic design for Snake Eyes, and
I'm now thinking about getting this figure to celebrate the movie release :D

So what's the general consensus regarding this figure?
I'm not fond of mods so I'd like to know how good this figure
is, stock.

It's a very solid figure! Don't be fooled by the criticism you read on here.
Aside from maybe switching out for a more legit Commando sweater...no mods are necessary.

Another strong selling point with V2 SE is he comes with soooo much stuff you can easily get both a ninja version and commando version by using an extra body and spare black pants.

Its cool to see the movie bringing people into appreciating the whole aspect of the Joes. If you can get into reading comics at all find the 80s Joe series and read the stuff with Snake Eyes and Kwinn, its like issue 2 or 3, then issues around 11 to 14. Also read Silent Interlude which is issue 21 I believe. You can pick up reprints cheap or just download them on your comp.

Edit: found this on youtube, not a fan of the background noise, but the guy made a video out of the panels from the Silent Interlude issue.

Thanks for the encouraging feedback guys! :D

Looks like I'm really gonna pick this one up. I'm not bothered by the puffy sweater that much, anyway.

I just watched hot chix cool toy review, and the amount of
accessories just blow me away! :clap

Yeah, I read in a figure review that the silent interlude was the one that really initiated
Snake Eyes's (and Storm Shadow's) popularity. Thanks for that vid. :hi5:
I'll start hunting down those comics soon.

I purchased a Snake Eyes outfit from TonyMeis. I'm pretty happy with it. It also came with a mask, made with the same type of "wetsuit" material as the outfit, which can be used to put over the SSC Snake Eyes sculpt (shown in the pics). A belt was also included, but not shown.

Don't mind the ridiculously oversized boots. It's still a WIP.

I already modded a previous Snake Eyes sculpt with a cloth balaclava, to match the Snake Eyes v1 shirt. I put some bendy hands & "real" gloves on, to keep with the "cloth" theme.

I can't imagine wearing that wetsuit into combat. How does Snakes go to the bathroom wearing that bodysuit?
