Luke: So I am a Jedi.

Yoda: LMFAO! Nah mate, you gotta do a lot more than be good with the Force and wield a lightsaber.

Mostly for me I was relieved that we didn't get like, an iced-over Poppins Leia redux, coz Ahsoka is so POWERFUL the Force surrounds her like one of those rolling playground bubbles.

I’m going to regret this, but….

Is that what you think happened in the Leia scene? The force surrounded her like a bubble and pushed her around? Seemed obvious to me that it was a basic force-pull, just this time against a bigger object than a lightsaber.

But anyway…..

What does it matter if she flew around in the vaccuum of space completely innocent of protective gear, in this manner or that one?

Its still equally stupid. In fact one of the lowest points in this entire franchise.

So I watched episodes 2 & 3 today - I am back into this. Good pace and action — as usual the baddies are interesting and leaving me wanting more. However - I am tiring of Ahsoka’s constant brooding (is that her nature?- or the writing?)

I am very much enjoying the show. Just finished the 3rd.

Right now I would say it’s been my all around fav. Like you I like the baddies. The bad female sith chick is hot lol.

The music is fantastic and really helps this show feel like SW

I also agree about Ashoka’s brooding. That was not her character in the show. T however she was much younger and it was a happier time for her.

Either way I’ve enjoyed something about each episode and only thought the first was a drag.

This has felt the most like SW to me. Much of it is the music but the action has been very much in the tradition of SW.

I see it getting some hate on line but so far I’m a fan.

Yeah, I think the shipped has sailed for me purchasing physical Mando discs as well. A couple years back I would have rushed to the store to pick them up on day one of release but now Mando feels tainted like so much of Disney Star Wars. There are definitely still episodes that I enjoy and occasionally revisit but the excitement over owning a box set collection to display on my shelf is gone.
Just buy season 1 and 2 and call it a day.. that series ends for me there and I am happy knowing Ben Solo kills baby Yoda.

Yeah, I think you're correct as to what Filoni was going for but then I think of Luke who'd never sat in a gun turret a day in his life and he did much better without any "presets" or someone flying the ship to better line up his shots and it just makes Sabine look like anything but an accomplished combatant.

Just poor execution like you said that ignores what civilian farmboys and veteran Mandalorians should be capable of compared to one another, which is what made me wonder if Filoni is just going too far to make sure no one calls Sabine a Mary Sue.
Luke had a little something known as The Force. Yeah he had not tapped its potential but I think that’s what made him a good pilot.

She seems to be negative with the force lol

I don’t know. I am surprised the show is getting this much grief from some.

It’s been better than most of the Disney series, ST, and PT so far.

Yeah space Whales were a bit silly looking due to the whale head but the rest looked cool and the FX were great.

I am a fan of TCW and like the characters from rebels even though I’ve only seen a handful of episodes so maybe that’s playing into my enjoyment.

It also helps that this one, like Andor does not look and sound like it belongs on ABC network

Yeah I didn't make that one, just pulled it from Facebook, lol.

It definitely wasn't worded to your standards

You lost me at Ben Solo. While he was easily the best performer in the ST, Adam Driver's character was also the one I least want to accept as canon. As soon as he is mentioned in any other post-OT TV or movie material I am out. (And obviously I am out on the ST themselves)

I mean he did write around it by making her leave the Jedi order behind and no longer identify with it.

Ezra is gone. And Cal also decides to leave the order behind - we also don’t know what happens to him yet.

And Grogu is a literal baby.

But regardless, nothing changes the fact that Luke was the only one that was capable of doing what needed to be done.
Those are valid points for sure. I will say, I think it’s actually more realistic to me that some Jedi survived Order 66, and managed to outlive the Empire. Remember, the order was absolutely massive, and they scattered completely. The Inquisitors tracking them weren't exactly amazing force users either, so I buy most Jedi defeating them. Of course, that buy in is halted if Vader is involved, and that's kind of why I would have preferred Ahsoka die there.

To me, Luke being the last true Jedi, as well as redefining what that means, is what ROTJ is about. Having other ex-Jedi out there doesn’t change that through-line. Absolutely agree with you on that last point. His character journey isn't affected whatsoever imo.

Also, characters like Ezra/Shin/Grogu etc were trained or born post Order 66. Of course there would be more force sensitive children born. They were just found by people who could teach them the ways of the force, (based on their own prejudices of the order which is an awesome narrative device to portray nature vs nurture), and also protect them from the Empire.

:lol oh I agree.. but I thought it was good for a punchline :lol

I must be the only one here that liked kenobi lol
Well that makes sense since Moses Ingrams acting was pulled right out of the PT ;) :lol

Kenobi reminded me of the PT in that there was some good cool moments but oh man are there some bad ones that just ruin the show.

I actually watched the final duel on that show tonight. I forgot how bad the direction was. The shaky cam was so stupid and so un-Star Wars. It really ruins what should have been a top 10 Star Wars moment.

Like I said the show has some cool moments but IMO, overall, it’s trash. :(
