Despite all the negative posts.....it's just too easy with Sideshow involved.....if SS really do learn from the f-up that were the first few Clone Wars figures, I would consider this to be an alternative in the display over the HT live action version.

But no way am I pre-ordering at this point.

Even if this one ends up good I’m not getting it because of how Anakin and Obi-Wan turned out.

The base looks good. At least they are listening to customers when it comes to a newer base
Is that sarcasm? A newer base as in the same old hexagonal base they’ve had forever?

The stand support is just a crotch grabber that you can slide an extra long pole over with an additional waist grabber on top.
Their first Batman and Magneto had it (that I’ve personally owned) except they actually put some deco on stands back then.

Kinda sucks because it’s so chunky and rigid but it holds the figure in place…
Sideshow know flexible arm stands or clear acrylic options exist but have no desire to improve any aspect of their products.

I actually like the Sideshow hexagonal stands because at least they’re consistent. Unlike the terrible hodgepodge of Hot Toys stands.

The flight stand design is good because it’s not a clamp and it’s designed to use both the hook between the thighs and ring around the waist for better support. Although the drawback is that it’s not flexible.

I bought a bunch of their stands to use with various figures.

*Not an update*

What is it- 8 months since this was teased and since the last figure in this line, Ahsoka, was announced?

I had a feeling SSC would abandon this line after botching Anakin and Obi Wan so bad. They can’t even sell at less than half price since word of their insufficiencies spread so fast.

This also bodes very poorly for Yoda and Ahsoka as, if the line is dead and clearly hasn’t been embraced by collectors, Sideshow already know they won’t sell much so will care even less about the finished product quality or factory qc than they did with Kenobi and Anankin.

Cad Bane could actually resurrect this line if Sideshow do right by their customers and put the work in to make something worthwhile.
As Bane wasn’t translated to live action as ideally as he could have been, I for one could forgo the HT version if this were ever to materialise.

A more optimistic interpretation of the radio silence could be that Sideshow have realised they’ve squandered this line, which was meant to be be a goldmine and a cash cow for years and years to come because collectors actually have standards, won’t just mindlessly buy because it’s Star Wars, and demand genuine high quality releases that align with the absurdly high prices SSC thinks they’re entitled to charge.

So, perhaps Yoda and Ahsoka will actually be made really well in an attempt to show that Sideshow have acted on feedback in an attempt to boost collector confidence so they reinvest in the line- and then they’ll put up Cad Bane hoping to secure more POs…

That Ahsoka looked terrible in prototype stage so I just can’t see them making any effort to improve it. History tells you they won’t. That’ll be the figure that kills the line. What a waste. They always do the bare minimum these days, they’ve become a lazy and complacent company.

As much as I want this to be the absolute best TCW Cad Bane, SS isn’t changing a thing. They have their way and if you don’t like it, they don’t care. They have switched to being a major distributor and once in a while throw out a new product. While some of their statues can be great, anything with moving parts gets minimal attention.

Kind of sad since they obviously don’t want to see the potential this line had.

I didn’t see this until now, wow. Looks really good. If final product is anything like this I would love to have this with my HT clone wars display.

Because of the crappy body debacle, my worry is that this line will bomb, canceling production before Cad Bane becomes a reality. It’s the one I want the most.

Sideshow knows by now they make **** bodies, sideshow knows by now customers are not happy with them, sideshow does not care one bit. They knowingly sell a **** product, certainly comparatively to the “competition”, and they will drive up the cost to us, while skimping on the cost to them.

It seems they are a statue company and distributor, that couldn’t keep up with the 1/6 market though innovation or unique enough products, but they are still half assing it to make a few extra bucks.

I guess the final straw/lesson for me on this was the general grievous rerelease. That had a unique and desired product, and they fracking didn’t give two fracking fracks about anyone wanting an update. They reissued the same piece of junk. Now I had the first one, it was crappy, but still, so much potential and still cool.

Sideshow gives zero fracks. As the sole distributor for hot toys, they monopolize the American market and the only legally used competition for a lot of hot toys products, are what feel like “knockoffs” from sideshow.

And then in the social media side things just keep going down hill. I’d argue what used to be interactive and informative, is now just the home shopping network.

I think they just come off a bit more shady every year.

Maybe they have always been this way, but for the past 7 years or so I’ve used them, I just get that downhill, and lack of effort feeling from them.

Again this is for 1/6, I’ve only had a couple statues, years ago, so I’m not sure about any statue drama 😂

Final product will probably not turn out well based on their track record.

They’ve had problem releases in the past but there are good reasons people are worried about the future of this line. Check the TCW Anakin and Obi-Wan thread. A lot of issues.

Could they right the ship and surprise people? Sure. But that would mean someone cared and they clearly don’t.

That really sucks. last figure I had of theirs was the mythos Fett and the body was terrible but it looked ok on the stand. This screams Clone Wars to me. I just started watching that show for the first time this year and really like it. The BOBF version is ok but not the same.

Yeah it’s a real shame they squandered this opportunity to capture a part of the market. It was a golden opportunity to capitalize on TCW collectors rising up.

Maybe a head and hat swap onto the TBOBF figure if you can get the parts from this figure.

OK, coming straight from the HT Bane thread to here shows me that this is the only iteration of Cad Bane I truly care about owning.

Dammit, Sideshow, why must you suck SOOO hard at figure production!
It's so bizarre because their Yoda came out really good. How do you do well on Yoda but then fumble the ball so hard on ******* Anakin and Obi-Wan? I'm not surprised at all if this Cad was cancelled.
