I really dug the reveal that MODOK
Spoiler Spoiler:
.

Antman from Ant-Man 1 was ROTS ObiWan, MODOK was Anakin post ROTS and Kang was the Emperor.

I also did appreciate Scott taking on the mantle of Captain America by having his “I can do this all day” moment while getting his ass handed to him by Kang plus he even got to wield a giant shield.

You know I was never fond of antman but his suit is just so cool. Probably the coolest mcu suit. Watching a lot of videos on how the original ant man movie was going to be different and Edgar wright was going to direct. Honestly it did look like a different film.

Count me in the “had a good time” crew and loved Majors as Kang. I called it during Loki that his Kang would veer from He Who Remains and I appreciate how he leaned into the different version of himself.

I don’t think it’s the best MCU movie, but no way was it in Eternals or Love & Thunder territory. Liked it more than Ant-Man 2.

Lack of Luis plot summary was a bummer though. And looking at the current daily box office, this movie will likely have legs like MODOK.

I saw David Dastmalchian's name in the credits, and was confused about it, but it turns out he was the voice of the goo creature. So, at least he kind of returned.

My son and I just caught this in IMAX 2D and...we freaking loved it!!

I honestly wasn't feeling it for maybe the first half hour or so but then it got better, and better, and better, and kept getting better right to the very end. I *cannot* believe they went full freaking Dune/Avatar/Star Wars with the final act! :thud:

I definitely enjoyed the family dynamic between Scott and Cassie.

FREAKING LOVED
Spoiler Spoiler:

In fact it was the arrival of the character mentioned above that was the turning point for me and from that point on I thoroughly enjoyed the whole movie to the end.

Jonathan Majors was absolutely fantastic as Kang and one of the few characters that actually looked cooler without his mask on, lol.

I do fear that they
Spoiler Spoiler:
but even if that is the case this film served as its own satisfying self-contained story so it won't matter.

Totally Infinity Saga worthy and possibly the best post-EG MCU film!

I got up at 4am to read this! :yess:

For Wor-Gar’s review I’m sleeping in at least until 7am lol

The movie really felt like a phase 1-3 movie especially since I already equate Hank Pym as a core SHIELD member in the MCU/Ultimates so having him
Spoiler Spoiler:
really sealed it for me.

Like no joke his moment is one of the highlights in all of the MCU it was just so bad ass.

The movie was just freaking fun.

Say it isn't so? Can it be true?

Wait, wait -- record scratch -- you liked NWH, didn't you? OK, nevermind....

:lol Not rude, we all have different tastes. I love alot, if not most, of Khev's movie choices.

Just sayin'... I feel like tastes have lowered substantially post-EG... in a desperate attempt to "be excited" at the movies again. I don't see the worthiness in many of these raved about movies lately.

The only ones I truly liked were Afterlife and Maverick (I know, not MCU). Not one Marvel production have I felt was a worthy successor to the Phase 1-3 masterpiece that was "The MCU" in the 20-teens.

Yes we definitely have a lot of overlapping tastes but I wouldn't expect you to share my excitement over this movie. If AWOW did nothing for you then you'd probably outright hate this one. ;)

I would argue that expectations have lowered but not tastes. I certainly wasn't sitting in the theater desperate for this to be good or exciting. In fact I was quite bored 30 minutes in and started thinking "damn AWOW is still showing two auditoriums down, why aren't I just watching that again." Same with TGM which is back in theaters due to the Oscar nom. But then the movie really started clicking and things that I thought were being thrown at the audience as empty spectacle (various alien characters and what have you) started to have huge payoffs by the end.

I'm not sure where I'd rank AM3 in Phase 1-3 but it is definitely worthy to be included IMO. Even if it's exactly in the middle of the pack of the first 23 movies that still puts it smack dab in the middle of some terrifically entertaining company.

And yes I did enjoy NWH, even a second time when I recently watched the EE but I suspect that AM3 will have much greater rewatch value going forward.

Yeah I just can't say enough about the third act, it just kept delivering on so many levels!

Each time I wondered if it'd fizzle out they'd up the ante in some surprising, awesome, comedic or heartwarming way. So many entertaining characters on both sides in this one.
