I wonder how hard it will be to just get the sculpt.
It won’t be hard, if you are willing to pay huge amounts of cash!

Yet do they say how they did it? Looks pristine.
Maybe HT well include “weathering remover”?

Yet another thread that’s …

If you do find out, please let us know how they did it. Would save the figure for me.
will do and same! In light of this situation, I impulsively used my Jango as a test. all I used was some isopropyl alcohol and a qtip and the grime came off rather easily. The silver paint is protected by a clear coat with the weathering on top. I used a toothpick to remove some of the more stubborn spots, which was slightly more stressful but I never chipped the silver off or took away the sheen. It’s hard to tell if the weathering is done the same for Mando but if so, it may be as easy as this.

That was brave to leap in like that, really pleased it worked out.
Very promising for this Mando figure too. Hopefully that customiser guy comes back to confirm how he did it but if not, I'd be tempted to try what you've done here on Jango.

Yeah I just tried on a small area of the gauntlet first and realized it was working like a charm. I’d recommend not pressing too hard just to be safe. It really is surprising how easy it works.
Id definitely keep you posted for sure. They didn’t have a very large page and it didn’t seem like they do commissions so I don’t see an indication they’d withhold secrets of the trade.

Wow, ya'll really like to nitpick. lol
I really like the weathering/dirt they put on the armor. Actually makes it look like he crashed a speeder bike and had to trek across Tatooine on foot!
It's like everyone has already forgotten what the Dark Lord of the Sith himself once said about sand: "It's coarse and rough and irritating — and it gets everywhere!"
Anyhow, I think this guy looks freaking cool. I'm glad I skipped the other two and waited for this one.

Hey guys. I've not collected Hot Toys for several years now. For someone looking to get back in the game, would you recommend picking this figure up or waiting for a future release?

You're getting back in the game? :hi5:

I'd say, if you want a great representation now/soon you can't do wrong with this one or even the previous TMS015 (which can be had for good deals) in my opinion. I suspect the next Mando may be quite a ways away, say if it were announced even now, it'd probably get released maybe one and a half to two years in the future.

Possibly yeah! Not sure! :panic: :lol

Some customisers are so weird about telling people how to do things. Probably cause they’d rather charge you $300 for a simple mod.
Hmmmm I suppose thats not surprising. Hopefully someone will be able remove the excessive weathering and will share the process.

I'm glad your happy but I'd hardly call it "nitpicking"
Sure under bright lighting the weathering doesn't show up as much but, as previously posted pictures show, under natural lighting, the weathering is very heavy.
You're happy because the heavy weathering looks like he's been rolling around in the sands of Tattooine for a few days. A nice representation of the scene at the end of ep1 or start of ep2.
The issue myself and some others take, is that this is supposed to be a Season 2 Mando, not season 2 end of ep1 and start of ep2 Mando.

Can’t even see the weathering here under his lighting.
This video proves that HT intended to make a near perfect clean chrome shine as this one certainly has so what the heck is going on are those other acid wash examples being shown factory defects of the chrome process?

This video clearly shows a near mint shiny Mando under direct lighting.

Very odd.
I'll be waiting to see more examples of in hand figures under different lighting conditions.
Even then, it does seem the weathering can be removed so there's a back up plan there.
