I liked Prey. Simple story done well. Nothing will top P1 obviously, but I rank this 4th after P1, Predators and P2.

This just came out and has 35 years of history before it. I wouldn't be raving about it like I'm seeing all over social media.

Just watched it. Not sure how I feel about it yet. Leaning towards not liking it very much.
Took a good while to get going. Once it did it was quite entertaining for awhile.
But... I really didn't like the ending.
Thoroughly hate the Predator design. HATE it. Worst Predator design ever commited to film. Yes even worst than Scar's surprised look, even worst than Berserkers weird shaped head.
I'll give it some time to process it. Maybe give it a second watch.

I pitched this idea to a friend who is involved with the franchise. He loved the idea.

Predator vs Samurais
I really like this idea - I loved how they did a take on this in Predators.

What I like about this is that despite the ideas we have of the Predators as having a code - in truth the Samurai would probably think them cowardly like the Ninja, as they use stealth, deception and irregular warfare to fight as opposed to honorable battle. The conduct of the Predators is in many ways against bushido (if one were to consider them fellow warriors) and the samurai (or at least an honorable one) would see them as monsters.

What about a film where a Samurai and a Ninja have to team up to defeat a Predator (maybe for the ninja in order to survive and the samurai in order to avenge their daimyo and his honour for not dying in noble battle to save him) and the ninja has to teach the Samurai to fight in "dishonourable" ways outside his code - like stealth, trickery, cunning etc in order to defeat an opponent against whom he has no chance in a traditional, even, sanctioned-style fight/duel and the Samurai teaches the ninja that there is more to life than mere survival and that there are things more important than oneself.

Wonder if we will get figures from this. I loved the primitive design. Also found it funny how he just threw hands with anything that wanted to fight. No matter what it was. Also him killing the French was absolutely crazy

^^^ MGS_oldboy Well said after watching Prey it easily takes the third spot after P1/P2. Leagues above everything filmed after 1990 in Yautja world. I think it's a shame Disney didn't released it in theaters because I think it could fetch way more money and recognition which is always a good thing for the franchise. So far this year I was wrong about two movies Top Gun Maverick and Prey both movies turned out to be a worthy companions to the originals. Dan Trachtenberg you are my new friend. Would not mind having that Predator in 1/4 scale by NECA...
Definitely agree. I think if I were to stew over it long enough Prey will surpass Predators to me.

On a side note I think Hulu has a free trial for new members. Worth a shot to register just to see this movie.

Would love to see predators in different timelines. Japan in the feudal era. Ww1 or 2 . Revolutionary era. Civil war or during the slave trade era. Anything else I’m missing

Fantastic idea! :clap

I liked the design I don’t understand the hatred for it.
We all have our own opinions dude. To me it looked awful. Like a horse head with mandibles and giant goofy eyes way too far apart. Horrid design.
Hated the badly made, weird gecko hands too. And the way it juts its head so far forward.
Absolutely nothing wrong with you or anyone else liking it.
EDIT: You know what, it looks like the love child of a Predator and a Gungan.

That would be a great idea.

The Chinese Samurai and Japanese Ninja would have to be at war at first, fighting each other, until a bigger threat forces them to join forces...

I love the enthusiasm mate.... but samurai and ninja are both japanese.
They could work for opposing daimyos though!

Being constipated is a better experience than The Predator.

I loved and still love AvP, never understood the hate for it.
Very entertaining movie with Predators & Aliens. What's not to like?
I also can find some enjoyment in AvP. It's a fun movie. But it's a total mess.

The biggest sin with AvP was taking 2 beloved SciFi/Horror franchises with 6 movies between them all rated R, and putting them together to make a PG-13 movie to sell toys to little kids.

AvP Requiem is unwatchable. As is that last crap fest of The Predator. I don't think I could sit through the whole movie and wound up skipping through some of it. The cast was terrible, and straight up gags for comedic laughs has no place in these movies.
