Does $20 off really help on a figure that's going to be over $350 after shipping?
Says the fellow collector who follows and participates in the "Current discount codes at SSC" thread jumping through SS hoops for $1 & $2 in RP's!!! :rotfl

But seriously, like I said previously, I don't think I have ever used one of those coupons. So it would've been nice to be able to cash one in for a change.

And no, It doesn't change whether I will buy this or not, but $20 either covers the tax or shipping. Like you don't prefer to buy things from places with free shipping? Or when the internet sites didn't charge tax? :lol

The thank-you codes get emailed on day 40 after payment processing, usually earlier on the date your reward points get added to your account (and after the return/refund window has closed), so you can keep track by looking at your upcoming rewards tab. I'm due one on the same day the exclusive preorder countdown ends, and hoping the timing works out -- and that he hasn't disappeared from the eligibility list by then.

Never knew that about the codes. Thanks. :duff

Didn't know that either, thanks for the information.

Explains why I had so many over the last few months.

After looking at all these pics, this might be the best 1/6 Vader out there. I can’t comment on the bucket accuracy because we all know how many versions they’ve gone through. That portrait inside the damage is amazing. I think HT knocked this one out of the park. Throw some damage on the chest panel and cape and top it off with that USB lightsaber and I don’t see how it gets any better!
An accurate cape connector would be appreciated the most with a high collar. It's been throwing me off and I couldn't put my finger on it.

Wondering if the Vader experts can advise if this new clean Vader mask and helmet can work as a substitute for the elongated ESB mask and helmet? Granted, the chin vent is the smaller ANH version.
It can be used as a replacement for sure IMO, since the dome's middle part (under the Y/what do you call it? Window peak or something?) is flat. The chin vent smaller as you said but would look so much better than the stock ESB head.

Also, every time I look at the pics, my eyes just go straight to that stupid giant codpiece just like on the RO figure.

So after searching on Ebay, I found a few parted out original HT ANH Vader cod pieces. Bought the cheapest one for $8. Hopefully it'll work with/look fine on this guy. If not, no big loss.. There were a few more ranging from $15-$20 if anyone else feels the need/compulsion to replace it....:cuckoo:

Hate to keep harping on this but that codpiece is the worst. It destroys the visual flow of the armor, and it looks like its made of cardboard and duct tape that was Sharpie'd black. Its a big, big flaw. Ugly as hell.

Meanwhile TheClient's fix looks great. Why can it not be like that to begin with.

It has the windows peak which isn’t esb accurate (and the aforementioned small chin vent). However, the helmet overall is a MUCH better shape than the ESB Vader. I would
much rather deal with those inaccuracies then the elongated face on ESB. Having said that, I was disappointed they didn’t give us a newly sculpted helmet. The new 3.75 inch hasbro Vader has a more accurate helmet than any of the hot toys figures and that is a shame.

Interesting. I did not notice that before. I just assumed it was the same as the rogue one helmet but it isn’t. At least in the aspect that the rogue one had a widow’s peak and this doesn’t. that makes him even stronger argument to use this as a replacing of the ESB helmet. I really hope the body is the rogue one body and not the ESPN body. I always felt the ESB body looked stubby because of the shorter legs.

I’m happy for Vader’s lightsaber I really am now if you’ll please excuse me I just need to go turn my Hulkbuster lights on i’ll be back in 4 hours.
I have the whole set 1-7 and I'm pretty sure if I started lighting them up at #1 by the time I got to #7 the batteries would already be dead in the first three.

Lighting up Hot Toys Iron Man figures requires more time, energy, and logistics than lighting the Beacons of Gondor.

It used to be pretty reliable that I’d receive a coupon 24 hours after a purchase. I would stagger purchased of multiple figures I wanted just to get the then 25 off. Really helped. Now, it seems totally random and sometimes quite a while after a purchase that I receive them. I get it, Sideshow is a business and those 20 dollars add up for them too. But yeah, I’d love to have the savings with the amount of stuff I purchase
