I don't think the face is awful, I can definitely see Hailee in there, I think the eyes are the wrong color but the way her face is framed is what's really throwing it off, the hair is bad, especially the mirrored strands of hair which shouldn't even be a thing anymore and the agressive widow's peak which from what I've seen she didn't have on the show, maybe the jawline/chin is a bit rounder than it's supposed to be as well, it's probably another sculpt that will be revised before production.

Not impressed by this. It’s a figure I would have only been interested in if the sculpt blew me away but this had a poor likeness with an utterly vacant stare that doesn’t even look comfortable in a neutral pose.
I’ve passed on all HT POs since The Batman so at least I’m saving money to through at InArt in blind faith.

To echo what R_R_X said a bit, I don’t think this is as absurdly terrible as many of the comments are suggesting. I think everything looks great except for the likeness, and even then, it’s not terrible but it needs work. I don’t mind the sculpted hair but it needs work, and the face shape is definitely too long and needs to be a bit rounder.

Ultimately, I can look at this and know I’m looking at Kate Bishop, even if it’s not a perfect likeness on Hailee.

The good news is, JC Hong already said on his Instagram that this isn’t final and they’ll work on the sculpt, so I’m going to pre-order in good faith because Hot Toys has put out some great sculpts lately and I’m going to trust they’ll get this one right too.

Also this is probably the last MCU figure I’ll order unless some new character really blows me away in the future, so I guess it won’t sting as bad if it doesn’t come out perfect haha.

Material and colours on the purple look really off...
I think rather than the materials being the problem it's Hot Toys' penchant for trying to replicate all the different patterns & textures that they see in the suit design. These may be evident when you zoom in on Hailee's real life outfit but they should NOT be so prominent (if there at all) in 1/6 scale, especially given no one noticed them when watching the show. Still, it's not a bad effort on the suit, it just looks somewhat inaccurate as a result.

I agree the sculpt looks good at some angles but something is throwing it off for straight on viewing. Good catch on the widow's peak, but I doubt that will get changed for the production release.

Overall I think this is a solid release but it does seem quite light on accessories, especially with no Lucky (pizza dog). Hopefully the price reflects that...........Oh, who am I kidding? :lol

The figure looks too tall and skinny, and like others have said, her face is too thin. However, that won't stop me from getting it, I need a Kate in my collection.

I don't think it's terrible, but its just off enough to not be good. The body and the jacket look worse than the sculpt.

The body is good. The likeness is there but not completely there. Not sure if it's the shape of the eyes or the cheeks need to be more puffy. I can't pinpoint it.
It’s hard to say but I think the biggest issue is the eyes and eyebrows are far too small. I don’t know why they gave her a widow’s peak, either.

The hair is the biggest flaw of the sculpt, the widow's peak immediatly throws everything off and the big mirrored bangs do a really poor job of properly framing her face, hell the fact they actually mirrored the bangs (something primitive by today's standards) instead of scultping two different, more natural ones tells me this another rushed proto that will eventually be changed, seems like that's what they do these days, put out a rushed proto sculpt and then improve it before production.

Aside from that making her moles a bit more pronounced and changing the paint would be an immediate and effective improvement, I don't know why their sculpts are so soft and lifeless these days.

Agreed! Though for me I don't mind the extraneous detail.

Yeah I'd like the one-eyed golden retriever too! They could've included pizza too, I think I'll use the pizza that came with the VGM Scarlet Spider :lol

Looks fantastic to me. I can see Hailee in the sculpt. :rock

Agreed! I think the sculpt captures her.

I think the sculpt looks a little long but the long wispy strands of hair framing it could be giving off that impression in the same way different designs of shirts can make a person look taller. And agree with R_R_X completely about them being old news. They remind me of the Rey strands that every movement of the head is made in fear of them breaking

You’d hope that a company specialising in 1/6 scale humans would understand that humans are not symmetrical :lol
