Will a custom cape made for D12 fit on the D19 without any trouble? I’m not sure how the cape actually attaches or removes. Is the stock cape re-attachable after removal?

Might be a little early to expect an answer, not many of us have this in hand, but figured I would ask while it was on my mind.

Ill use a game comparison...

DX19 is like a “remake” of a decades old game. Nicer graphics, great gameplay but has some leftover, 10 year old archaic game design that holds it back from being a smash hit. In fact, some of that design is a detriment to the overall package.

Instead of improving upon questionable design choices, the developers didn’t bother. All they did was give the game a face lift. Sure the argument can be had where it’s a “remake” of an old game, so the game engine should stay the same.

...ok? So that means they couldn’t have addressed game design issues that plagued the original? Rather than spend resources and streamline certain elements to make for a more enjoyable experience, they opted to just throw more graphics at the game and call it a day. Core game is still fun...but it could’ve been SO MUCH BETTER.

That in my opinion...is an UNINSPIRED and UNDERWHELMING remake.

Which is essentially what this figure is to me.
Fair enough, not trying to change minds, understand what you're saying mate. :)

Maybe one day a company will nail it at this size, but hoping for the best with JND. But I do think this looks fantastic, the 1/4 will surely come out very nice also.

The 1/4 ver is a re-release I can get behind. Because the base figure is already fantastic.

I was wondering the same thing myself, but I think it should be fine. Just a bit shorter to the ground based on the difference in the shoulder heights. I was also hoping that the DX02 flight pack fits.

Admittedly, this is not the cheapest release that could have happened.

To see just how cheap Hot Toys can be, see the recast of the already awful looking 2011 Batman Begins figure that they're releasing this year (which itself, I just realised, a recast/ re-release of the 2008 Hot Toy).

10 years later and the only improvement they made is giving it the headsculpt from the DX19. The new headsculpts mouth and jawline are completely different to the cowls recast face plates as well. Mind boggling.

Yeah I really hope the batman begins comes out better than the prototype picture, it does look like a straight up reissue of the 2011 toy Fair

I don’t have much hope for the begins reissue. Didn’t they already sell some of them in their HK store? Also, it’s priced pretty low I doubt they would be willing to invest in it much with the low price.

I guess my custom will have to be good enough

Just had a great idea… watching Justin’s collection video I noticed the chins on the Armory version look very similar in detail but slightly larger than the DX19, first thing I’m doing when I get mine is testing armory chin plates to see if they get the flush fit of the QS001.

Just watched Justin's review. Agree with his sentiments for the most part. Definitely much larger now and in-scale with more modern Hot Toys. Im glad I sold my DX12. This is definite milestone moving forward. Hopefully they do 2.0s for the other figures so Nolanverse is in scale in the shelf.

Yeah I'm feeling more tempted now after that review, even though my Armory version still looks pretty darn good in that comparison.

Unfortunately I already ordered a wired Jaxon cape for it, so not sure it would work as well on this much taller figure...

I ordered a Jaxon cape as well. I suppose it can be a "battle cape".

Here are some really old photos of my DX12 capes. I’ll be using the same material which is the blackest custom cape out there as confirmed by several customers with competitor’s capes.

I need to reassess the template once I get the DX19. Since I want it to bunch up at the collar correctly and just graze the ground in the back it needs to be pretty precise.

I’ll make the new ones available as in stock in batches on my site.
