You mean from the same movie where they released a Batman figure?😉
That’s my point…anyone attempting to apply logic, rhyme, or reason to what Hot Toys chooses to release is engaging in an exercise in futility!

Ever since they announced they’d be making green lantern figures and never released them I lost all trust in the company. Bomb or no bomb you say or show your going to do something then commit to it.

Green Lantern merchandise notoriously sold very poorly. One of the reasons the cartoon series (which was MILES better than the film) got canned was because they couldn't get retailers interested in action figures since they still had a bunch of Green Lantern movie crap rotting on shelves. I don't think it's particularly shocking that Hot Toys decided not to make stuff for that...though releasing Hellboy recently is a bit more puzzling.

Not really? I just pointed out the consistent rhyme or reason that applies to this situation: they make Batman consistently. They will make Batman again.

I know but it’s just they announce stuff and never commit to it. I knew the movie sucked but actually some wanted the figures lol

Which makes you wonder how that works. So for Black Adam, is it cheaper to go ahead and purchase a license to make figures from that now? Will it be more expensive if it is closer to release or if it dominates at the box office? Is it cheaper to just cut your losses if the movie sucks and make no figures?

Not sure why with all leaks nowadays, how no one knows how it works or about how much it costs for licensing like that.

Edit: actually found a good article but this is for Hasbro SW. Shows the insane amount Hasbro bends over to Lucasfilm for.

You are mistaken…just like they “made Harley Quinn consistently.” They did, only until they didn’t…they always made a Joker…until they didn’t…they always make Batman…I’ll let you finish that sentence in the summer of 2025 while you stare at the dusty spot on the shelf that you cleared for the The Batman figure that will have been teased, maybe even shown at a Toy Show, but still isn’t there.

I understand what your saying but I don’t think they would have made a Snyder cut joker. Leto sold poorly and was poorly received. They made 3 versions of him. Didn’t want to take the risk. With Batman they have a sure fire hit since Batman sells out all the time. The new movie has lots of buzz to so hot toys will capitalize on that.

also remember they have a few Harley’s they haven’t released yet from from bop I think. So I guess they don’t want to do it? Idk this company is weird.

Nah, I’m not. They make Batman, they’ll continue to make Batman. That’s the part you keep trying to ignore. The movies you keep citing as having no Harley or Joker figures ...still had figures made. If they bothered making Cyborg and King Shark, they’re gonna make Batman. It’s not even a discussion.

They not only made a Batman figure, they released one of them twice.

While the lack of a Harley from the recent SS is odd seeming how popular her character is in general and Margot Robbie's take on her specifically, like ironwez20 said theres been other versions of her and there are still unreleased ones.

In a world when they currently have I think 5 different Batman figures up for pre order from 3 different versions of the character (and one of which's movie has mixed fan feeling to this day) in 2 different scales I think if we were going to take a solid bet on a DC figure being offered between now and the end of 2022 by Hot Toys it will be The Batman.

Hot Toys is releasing the ZSJL Batman-Superman two-pack and Cyborg. That’s for a movie that got zero promotion. The Batman is DC’s biggest offering of 2022. Unless it bombs, which seems highly unlikely, demand will be great for a Pattinson Batman figure.

The Flash movie is a wild card. But it definitely has possibilities for plenty of figures. Once this film releases will an updated Michael Keaton Batman be in high demand? I’m not so sure that the nostalgia market is as strong as what WB apparently believes, but yeah such a figure probably would sell well. Batfleck figures have always sold well. Here it’s supposedly the character’s swan song (in that timeline, but as we know he can still exist in earlier ones). I would imagine that a Sasha Calle Supergirl figure will be in demand as well.

But hey. At the end of the day I honestly have no earthly clue how Howard Chan decides which figures get made.

Wasn’t there an interview a couple of months back where Howard expressed being a big fan of Batman?

Considering how many of the few offerings from HT when it comes to DC in the last year have been of a Batman I wouldn’t be shocked if we get more Dark Knight’s from the Flash than the titular hero 🤣

I don 't think anyone does, except Howard......

Yep… I agree with everything you’re saying. I also agree that by every logical forecast, one should assume that Hot Toys will DEFINITELY release at the very least a Batman figure from The Batman.
I personally cannot see how they would not.
My biggest point, however, is summed up by your last sentence.
I think that Hot Toys is so good at making bad decisions that in spite of what an obviously great decision it is to release The Batman figure, Hot Toys is bizarre enough to decide not to release one.
The discussion shouldn’t be about how much sense it makes to release a Batman figure, because everyone of us in this thread all agree and for the exact same reasons.
What we disagree on is some folks here seem to have a lot more faith in Hot Toys ability to make good decisions than I do.

Honestly we are just going to have to see. Sometimes hot toys will suddenly pop up with an announcement yrs later that no one saw coming . Like that venom . Nobody saw that coming but they did it. So who knows. Hell tomorrow they could drop the Shazam preorder. That’s just how they operate. It’s a reason I don’t rely to heavily on what they announce.

From FB. Lots of DC releases piling up:

I remember the days where Hot Toys delays could be counted on one hand. Hulkbuster, Drax........can't think of any others.

But they are clearly in a really bad way now !

I always used to think when they were quoting those 2 years until release it was simply a safety buffer to be corrected later. But I think many will probably stay true to those ridiculous release date quotes.
