That'd be great, there are some 1/6 figure bodies out there.

if customizing, not sure who you could start as a base?
Never looked up the actor before, apparently- Aidan Bertola

Wasn't there a 3'P that did a pretty good Laura X-23 figure? Wonder if they have their eye on this?

I actually think the 1998 1/6 Anakin figure would work just fine for young Din with a repaint. Especially if dressed with a hooded outfit. I’m thinking of getting one since they’re so cheap.

Don't know what the articulation was on those. but yeah you don't need much on him.
Paint hair and boots, lose belt, pants over boots, close tunic and add hood, heavy dye job, puffy-foam stencil. I can see it working for a simple prop (and hood would obscure the face)
Very quick photophakery.

^Yeah, that’s the idea right there, Mondragon. I have no idea about the articulation either. I’ve got one on the way so we‘ll see. I’m guessing a full repaint of the sculpt will look even better and EvilFace could easily do the stencil for it.

I have a friend who is a tailor and she might be willing to do a hood or even a full outfit for him.
We’ll never get anything like this from HT so just having a nice stand in for the Death Watch soldier to carry would be cool.

I'm doomed.

BTW what do you guys use for risers? I think I want it on a riser

He'd look tres' cool with a hooded poncho billowing in the wind. I like it.

Arrived today. Idk if it’s just mine but the body feels pretty loose, it can hold a pose but the joints are way too easy to bend.
Aside from the loose joints, is the figure worth picking up, in your opinion? I'm still on the fence. There are other figures with higher priority (for me) but I don't want to regret skipping this one, especially if someone offers a Kid-Din to pair up with it.

Yeah, it's a beautiful figure. If you like Mandos in general I'd suggest picking at least one up.

I'm sure it'll at least hold its value if you change your mind down the line.

I may be receiving mine tomorrow.

The UK group I ordered from said he's been busier than ever the past few weeks, which explains the short delay getting the DW out.

Lando, who presumably arrived with him in the UK at the same time, won't be despatched until next week.

After all the Covid related delays it's like somebody pulled the cork out of the Chinese production process and figures from multiple companies are flooding out. Really unusual to have so many Hot Toys releasing at the same time.

I discovered the clone trooper's jetpack does not fit on Death Watch. Or rather the connection is very weak. Death Watch uses two magnets and feels like clones use one. Din Djarin or Cody's jetpack doesn't work either.

First impressions:

I like him a lot. The weathering on the armour is well done and he has an interesting, and unusual, colour palette.

From the beginning I thought the flight suit had a purple tinge, and I can definitely see it in hand under different lighting. It's very subtle, like he put his grey suit in the wash with something red.

Once again the flight stand is annoying. The safe place to put the waist clamp, between the belt and vest, is too high for the jet pack to sit properly. I managed it with one of the other figures in this series, but I can't make it work with this one. I've swapped it out for an upright from a black oval stand. It just required a bit of filing as it was too fat for the slot.

The base itself is very wobbly, the wobbliest since the Snowtroopers. I loosened the screws underneath and it improved a little. Without the diorama top on the actual base is perfectly level.

I can’t fathom why they wont give us a crotch grabber and a dynamic/flight stand. I hate to be that guy but for the price we’re paying it’s the least they could do. Especially for figures that will end up with damage from the flight stand.

Plus the stands they're giving us aren't exactly high end precision in how the diorama tops connect to the base.

I tried him with the flight bracket afterwards, and thought I found just the right spot to both protect the pleather and get the jetpack attached. But the bracket still prevents the jetpack from meeting both magnets.

So I put the crotch grabber back in.

I'm currently awaiting inspiration for how to pose him.
