The worthless fine fellows at FedEx claimed they delivered my package today — while I was sitting there. Nothing. And of course, you can’t do **** until the next day, even though their crap system says it was delivered.

I have received Arwen. There is no art box with the deluxe, just a brown box with a sticker that says "Arwen". We started bad. The likeness with Liv Tyler is very good. I did not like the sleeves of the dress, it is the first time that I do not like something from Asmus clothes. The rest of the dress is well done. Table and divan, fine, but the divan legs go with magnets and fit more or less the same as the Gandalf crown mailbox, that is, they fit badly. You have to test which leg fits best in each hole, because none of them fit well. The sheets are any two pieces of fabric cut out, nothing to do with what we can see in the movie or in the mini statue of weta. The book and the candlestick are good too. If I hadn't had to pay the extra shipping and import fees and absurd handling fee to FeDex, I wouldn't have cared as much, but at the price I've paid, it's the first time I've ever regretted buying an Asmus figure.

Thanks for your review. Sounds like there is good and bad, with the good outweighing the bad.

The lack of box art is really terrible from Asmus.

Ha! After running into the FedEx truck in my town earlier, and asking about my package — they “claimed” there was nothing in the system, even though I showed them the text message and tracking info. (This was a little after 10:00). Well, just a few minutes ago a neighbor brought my Arwen — it had been sitting outside in the rain for the last 3 hours. Grrr! But, at least it’s here.

Just pulled out all the accessories -- I didn't receive any of the extra hands. Sent a PM to Rovi; I'm sure they'll take care of it, but that seems like an odd thing to miss when this doesn't exactly come with a lot of extras.

Think your pictures are beautiful and looks like a great set. I am sorry you got hit with excessive fees. But nothing like this will probably ever get made again, and I think only ASMUS goes the extra mile with displays and accessories.

And I say this as someone who was never a fan of the emphasis on Arwen in Jackson's work, or Tauriel later. Or the inexplicable "Arwen is dying" for IMO very thin reasons in the film, tho this isn't the thread for that.

Kinda annoying lol she looks so good - where is Thranduil on Throne? :crying ;)
PS. I don't care if there is an art box, IMO for these pieces with accessories (like a throne, maybe) while an art box is nice, all that art, printing color reproduction/matching, and making nice boxes just costs money. I'd rather ASMUS just give us cool stuff.

Got mine this morning, too. I really like her! (Though I may not have had to deal with as many additional charges or irritations as other folks.)

The lack of an art box was odd. Have we ever had that before? I assumed the figure itself would have an art box and that the furniture might possibly be packed less attractively, but no. Everything together in one brown box. (Though it was double boxed with an outer brown shipper, which was appreciated. I got mine directly from Asmus.)

The likeness is better than the previous Arwen, I think. The rooted hair works well for this look as she didn't have any complicated braiding going on in that scene. The upper part of the hair does have some glue or product keeping it in place, though, so keep that in mind if you're going to attempt any styling.

Yes, the sleeves are a bit long and make posing a bit awkward. I want to be able to see her hands, but the sleeves really want to cover them. Normally, I'd just fold it back a little, but it's very slippery fabric and isn't likely to stay positioned. Not a big deal for me, but I will have to work with it a bit to get the sleeves looking natural.

Otherwise, the outfit is solid. Asmus always does excellent cut & sew work.

As for the furniture, I love the divan, but it is going to be a space hog. Haven't decided if I'll be displaying it. I didn't have any assembly issues - except that it took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out that the legs were hidden under one of the foam panels in the packaging. :lol The side table is nice as well. The candlestick is a bit top-heavy and may require a dab of museum wax or earthquake putty to keep it from toppling over, but I also may have her hold it. Haven't decided on the setup yet. There are two fabric swatches for the divan and one bolster pillow. They're fine, but my partner - who has a far better eye for the LOTR elven details than I do - has said she may try to augment or replace some of the fabric accessories. (We'll see!)

Overall, I really like the figure. Solid addition to the line. Really good likeness, nice accessories. It's not Thorin or Crown Gandalf, but a respectable release all around. Thanks, Asmus!

I really love the set up Superglue81!

Hope mine ships soon this week. If I don’t get a notice by end of week I’m sending an email to Asmus customer service.

Better yet @ObiGlennKenobi, maybe the neighbor took the hands out (as it's been outside for 3 hours) and planned it for a Hallowe'en diorama outside on their front yard when the day gets closer (or to pay tribute to Thing from Adam's Family)? :ROFLMAO:
