I think Hasbro is onto something here with ThreeZero. This is the most competitive pricing for 1/6th scale figures in a LONG time.

I think Hasbro, possibly in their deal, along with ThreeZero, WANTS these figures under $200. Perhaps that's a reason why you're seeing a molded plastic torso instead of all the gear actually parsed out with fabric and buckles, etc. etc.

Look at the new Threezero 1/6 Power Rangers. $99 a piece. WOW.

I think a big thing here is that they're aiming at a collector group that is USED TO PAYING $20 A FIGURE. This group will scoff at $200+ (some have at these prices in the FB groups) G.I. Joe...which is partly the reason that I think the Sideshow line ended (aside from the easy "redo" troop builders they did).

Just IMO to compare Joe 1/6, the Sideshow Joes still hold up extremely well. That Camo Storm Shadow, Zartan, Firefly, Baroness, Beach Head and Chrome Commander are serious things of beauty. The Three Zero's aren't as good quality from the looks of things but Three Zero still did a great job. They won't hurt the Sideshow Joes IMO but I'm just glad we're getting new Joe stuff for sure

On display at Winterfest. Honestly looks pretty awesome with Snake Eyes.

They look good together but Snake Eyes needs a sandwich and to hit the gym. He is too skinny next to Storm Shadow.

I agree. Sideshow's stuff is still extremely well done...I had Snake Eyes and loved the figure (despite some of the loose joint issues).

I think "quality" is objective here. Yes, I don't think we'll see ThreeZero doing metal rivets, fabric straps, etc. and all the fine details we're used to with some of Hot Toys and Sideshow's figures....but for what they're going for and at a reasonable price-point, I'm happy with that. I already collect the Marvel Hot Toys and don't need Hot Toys-priced Joes to come along! Except maybe a few here-and-there.

I do plan on getting both Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. I have some of the sideshow figures and they will look fine together. I just need to find a better headsculpt for Flint.

I always pictured snake eyes and Storm shadow to be built more like Bruce Lee than Captain America so I’d actually say Storm Shadow’s arms are actually maybe a bit too big to me. They’re lean martial artists not body builders.

3Z's final production design & quality will break or make the future of the 1:6 GI JOE line with 3Z.

I have a strong dislike for 3Z for many reasons, but the GI JOE line may change that if done right. Same for the 1:6 Power Rangers. The price point will always be a complaint factor.

Sideshow had mixed history with their take on the 1:6 GI JOE line right, wrong, and indifferent.

Let's wait and see the end result from 3Z before the hanging.

Where is NAM when he's needed to chime in on this?

SMH...Plastic shirts. I'm not real impressed. I was hopeful when I saw the MSRP with Snake Eyes, but the arm design and shirts have made me skeptical.

I don’t care for Storm Shadow. The plastic shirt and wraps are completely unacceptable IMO.

Why is it soooo hard to get 1/6 GIJoe figures done right?!..
I have often wondered the same thing. High quality, comic-, card-, or even cartoon-accurate figures would be totally fine for me. But they either have problems in the quality department (e.g., Sideshow's Storm Shadow), base them off horrible movies (Hot Toys), or go with wacky, interpretive or modern designs that don't appeal to me at all (most of the later SSC stuff, ThreeZero).

SSC had a handful of winners, though, so that's something.

I'm also not a fan of the sculpted torso here. Though I suppose it is a cost-cutting move, it impacts the overall quality of the figure. It's like they are trying to walk a tightrope between cheap Hasbro toy and pricey high end figure.

I only hope this line does well enough so I can maybe get a Lady Jaye and Scarlett to add to my SSC collection and hopefully they look as good as the Classified figures.

Have low to zero expectations and hopefully the overall price point will remain well below the $200.00 MSRP mark.

I hope this line can avoid the crap fest that plagued the GoT series, but then again it is 3Z.

I ordered the complete set of the Power Rangers under the expectation it'll at least match what was advertised, but if it turns out to be crap . . . I'll quickly sell the set to another sucker . . . ER . . . hobbyist to recoup what I paid.

He looks good but he's definitely done a cycle lol with those arms. I still like Sideshow's camo SS the best but this looks great. I only wish they would give us a cloth chest piece but oh well. He'll look good next to camo Storm Shadow

There is no cheaper creature than the average GI Joe collector. No matter how low they go, they will never tap that fan base.

True that.

The average GI JOE collector is its own worst enemy.

Your quote reminds me of a quote from the the film NO WAY OUT (1987) where witnesses are brought into the Pentagon to identify Kevin Costner's character and one witnessed him as an "average" son of a b**** to the a security search detail lead and the the lead say "Okay. Let's go look for this average son of a b****."

The camo Storm Shadow by Sideshow was good, but I still have an affinity for the first edition release Storm Storm where its major flaw was the sh** body used for it.

I wish 3Z would at least give more clues on future figures. Are they going to do their versions of all the characters did by Sideshow or possibly offer some unique characters did not bother to do?

Like say . . .

BUDO
JINX
SCARLETT
LADY JAYE

Maybe their interpretations of COBRA TROOPERS, VIPERS, and CRIMSON GUARDS?
