It seems they have lost the license, at least for now.
They are still making star wars statues so is just sixth scale?

I think it's a fair assumption. They haven't previewed any new figures since Skiff Lando and that was probably about a couple years ago.
Maybe they gave up the license.

Yeah, people throw around "lost" like it was taken from them for poor performance or something. Other than X-Men and some DC heroes Sideshow has barely put out any 1/6 figures in the last few years. TBLeague is making their Court of the Dead figures and they seem to almost be a total TBLeague production in their display, so who knows how much work SSC puts into those besides providing the initial designs and approving them.
It makes me wonder how the Star Wars 1/6 license works though, and if anyone else could get it. Or did Sideshow and Hot Toys have a mutual understanding letting both make figures. I'm sure Hot Toys wouldn't want ThreeZero or someone else to get it and put out figures that are 25% cheaper.

Always thought the first Din was my figure of the year but this is definitely the superior look.

We have to thank our lucky stars he didn’t really change the armor in S2 ...otherwise both these versions would’ve been a waste
I have both and i'm done unless they make really battle damaged version (like the BD Mark 85). I want some other characters to put around him like Boba Fett, The Armorer or Bo-Katan for example.

Isn't it the same blue one as is on the Mando v1? I just noticed that.

Cool shot Jaycepticon! I know everyone is in a rush to complete the full Beskar look with custom parts, but I've grown to really like this intermediate look with the little splash of color from his original armor. So will probably be keeping mine the way it is.
(Although obviously it would have been nice if HT had simply included the extra parts with this figure.)

I’m actually just gonna get these and call it a day. It’ll be nice I’ll never have to worry about re-buying/upgrading to whenever Hot Toys gets to Season 2 Din.

We’re all paying the premium to just buy it from HK. Sideshow isn’t getting their first batch until Feb.

It still boggles my mind that SS didn't sweep in and start cranking out aliens, droids, and creatures. Star Wars is fundamentally built on reuse; one mold would inevitably see use elsewhere. SS can't compete with HT in many things, but if they could have offered max $200 creature figures that HT would never touch, I genuinely think they'd have had a winning product line on their hands.
Supplement this with display environments that are smaller and more affordable for the average collector and you'd have two, integral lines of products that would easily sell alongside HT. Couple environments with promos (i.e. buy HT Mando, recieve 30% off of Navarro door environment), and they'd probably make a new name for themselves in the product arena.
This is pure speculation on my part, but maybe getting the Disney license on just the 'big toys' is more affordable/practical for Sideshow? Given that HT completely dominates the 1:6 license? Sideshow may have just decided it makes more sense to focus on the statues and PF, etc.
