I’m one of the few people who love the Gort mask. I use it most of the time. I love the look, ha.
It's a cool looking mask for sure and I know that it was the planned masked before they brought Stan on board and he changed it. But I 90% always going to use the unmasked closed mandibles portrait with the remaining times displaying the bio or open mouth. I'll just never use the Gort.

Just unboxed my jungle hunter and no issues thank god, so seems I been lucky with this one and the city hunter to have no issues. Dame shame not to have the spear in mine. Anyway all boxed back up ready to move house. Hope fully my two hunter victims will arrive undamaged.

I'd like to gloss my predator, and I seen a few different types used through these pages. I was just wondering what people would recommend please

Spear Gang!! Love it.

Just out of curiosity, for anyone who owns this, do you know how the wrist blades are held in place? Do they use magnets, or something else? [i ask, because they're positioned on a downward angle, and i'm just wondering if they might fall out of the wrist gauntlet over time].

I don’t think there is a magnet, they just sort of push in & hook into place. Once they are in properly there is no reason why they should fall out. plus you get a couple of little strips that can be used if you feel they are loose fitting.

I’ve had mine now a couple of months now.

The detail on this piece is just insane & it weighs an absolute tonne.
All of the various switch-outs makes this one of my favourite statue’s in my collection.

It does look really good. They should offer the updated mask from the 1/3 to you guys in the correct scale for this (As an optional purchase) It still bugs me on this which is a shame as the rest of it is awesome! I kind of regret cancelling it, but that feeling will depend entirely on how the 1/3 turns out. I like both of them...

I love this piece. It’s tied for fav in my collection. I ordered the 1/3 but I’m really thinking of cancelling. Really no reason for me to own it as this piece has the pose and presence that I think the 1/3 is lacking, plus it takes up less space. 1/3 is more accurate for sure but I’ll take the 90 % accurate with the better pose over a 100% accurate with ok pose, any day.

Don’t get me wrong the 1/3 is going to be a beast but that’s just how much I love this piece

Accurate (IMO) bit quoted :naughty

.

I honestly think the 1/3 is a different league to anything we've ever seen from this license. But that also has me wondering (And worrying) If they can actually deliver that to us in reality. That said, I agree that this statue is more than enough for most people and that tastes are subjective anyway. Nobody really needs the 1/3 if they have this which itself is a beast of a statue! The pose on this may split opinion (It grew on me) But is undoubtedly more interesting than the 1/3 with its more museum pose. Although that pose makes perfect sense for the 1/3 as it's huge...

I'd be happy owning both this and the 1/3 tbh, I'd have the Gort mask on this to change things up a bit, and the movie mask on the 1/3 which is far superior to the one they provided with this. Now I'm talking about it, I quite like this idea... Dammit! :ROFLMAO: 🤑

What case is that? It looks really smart. I'm on the lookout for all new display units and cases etc to sort out my display room, it's currently a missmatch of different units..

They are Moducases mate. ModuCase – Stackable Display

I’ve had these about 8 months now, they are pricey, can be a ball ache to put together, but don’t regret the decision one bit as you can fit so much stuff in them.

The one with the Pred’s is a Max150. The Star Wars ones are Max140 plus x 2.

Ahh I thought it might be, thank you. It all looks really good! I really should get a couple of those. Better actually start measuring my statues and planning a display. Second question, where did you get the simple black plinths from? I'm actually thinking of making one for my 1/3 Big chap, but if I can get a smarter looking professional job, even better....

Thanks mate & You’re welcome. The pedestals are from Floating Shelves | Shelving Specialists Online | High Quality Shelving | Floating Shelving Systems | Shelving Suppliers UK
I had them make me 3 or 4 custom ones a few years ago. The one for the dog is pretty huge, but I really wanted that one to be displayed at waist height.

So, I've had mine for a couple of months now and decided to swap out the helmet head for the open mouth head. A few tiny bits of the paint (decals?) on the forehead started rubbing away as I was putting the head on the body. I then noticed a tiny bit of packing foam on the head and I sprayed some air duster at it. Well, the foam blew away but so did some more specs of paint!

Fortunately, I was able to whip up some paint and match the color of the missing brown bits. At least I don't have white polystone glaring at me anymore. I'm disappointed that this happened during a simple head swap. And I've never seen air duster damage a statue before.

I feel like someone in this thread a while back talked about how to seal paint. Can somebody please give me a refresher on that?
