New Dooku & Obi-Wan Force FX lightsabers?

Hi folks,

i was searching the glorious interwebs for Force FX lightsabers and came across an announcement that hasbro will be releasing 2 new sabers: the ep1 obi-wan (padawan) lightsaber and the ep3 count dooku/darth tyranus saber.

i'm not a big fan of the dooku character but i really like the design of his saber! to me, it perfectly embodies the description of "an elegant weapon for a more civilized age." :maul

does anyone here know WHEN these will be released?

and sorry if this is old news.

Its old news to me but, i am sure many were not aware of it on here most likely..i would pick up the EP1-2 Obi-wan lightsaber if the sound is tweaked different, i know MR had tweaked all the sounds for each saber to have them slightly differ and sound more true to how they did on screen.

The Count Dooku saber is really cool looking. I will definitely pick it up when it goes on sale.

right, so if this is indeed old news and they announced it some time ago, how come there's been no mention of when they're releasing the sabers? can't find any info on google.

some dude on youtube said prob mid 2009.

any official word in black & white?

Neat - those have to be some of my favorite saber designs. I will have to pick Dooku's and Kenobi's at some point in the future.

I believe these debuted during Toy Fair this year, which was February, so I'd say sometime June or later for a release. I definitely want to know though, Ep1-2 Obi-Wan saber is my favorite of all the hilts and I missed out on the 1:1 replica so this will be my runner up until eFX makes a souped up 1:1.

I hope the Hasbro FX is just as good as Master Replicas FX. I admit when I think of Hasbro I think of a cheap childs toy.

From my understanding, they acquired all the rights to the Force FX line, so I'd assume that means the engineering designs and technology behind the replicas as well. And with the release of Dooku's saber, it looks like someone figured out how to securely attach the blade despite the curve of the hilt.

Ya, I believe the transaction was, MR lost the SW license, Hasbro saw the success of the Force FX line, I'm sure that's the least complicated as the hilts take liberties and aren't exact and all, took the enginerring etc. and just added it to their offering. Hasbro's stupid sometimes, but I dont' see any point in adding the Force FX line to your offering unless you're going to keep it to the standards that collectors have come to expect. They're too pricey for kids, and adults aren't going to pay that if it's not up to the par of the previous Force FX releases.

a curved hilt is actually pretty fascinating. i'd imagine it changes the dynamics of swordfighting quite a bit.

I remember really hoping MR would put out a Dooku FX a few years back, but them saying it would be logistically difficult to do. Glad to hear it's finally being done and I'll definitely pick one of these up when it comes out.
