Hot Toys Scarecrow, yay or nay?

I won't be doing the mask in fabric. It's impractical, given the distinctive shape of the mask on film. It would be like making a cloth replica of Bale's cowl and expecting it to be screen accurate. I've tried a couple cloth masks, and they just look like the Elephant Man. Pretty cool for a generic/comic book Scarecrow, but not for this.

As for the sculpt, Cillian actually does have huge eyes. That's what makes him so creepy, I think.
But overall, huge eye syndrome is something I've been working to get away from. I think I developed that from working with so many Jim Maddox sculpts, where everyone is squinting and barely has eyes at all. I've always tried to avoid that, and I think sometimes I swing too far the other way in the process.

Honestly, I don't need a removable mask. I'd never remove it anyway. And I do believe you're right on the sculpted one looking better. It just will never lay on the face correctly and I don't want to spead hours setting it in a great pose only to whip it off and have to redo it again.

Perhaps you can offer two heads like HT does -- to remain consistent -- one of Cillian and one of the Scarecrow that we can swap... for those that want to swap.

For me, personally, I'd be happy with the Scarecrow sculpt, the straitjacket, and the gas gun thing up his sleeve. As you say, I can get a grey suit, etc, on ebay.

The briefcase thing is a toss-up for me. Not sure I want it, or would ever pose him standing there holding a briefcase. Not in his straitjacket. It really only works for those who want a Scarecrow figure AND a reg Dr. Crane with Cillian sculpt, glasses, breifcase; the whole mad doctor look.

This is the entire package:
straight jacket
Cillian head w/styled hair for use with suits
Cillian head w/messy slightly flat hair
rubber burlap-textured mask to fit head #2

** both heads will be interchangeable. Really, you're getting several figures in one package. You'll be able to do Dr. Crane in a suit, Scarecrow in a suit OR straight jacket. I finished the "messy hair" mod earlier today, I'll post pics in a while.

As for accessories, I don't know. I'm trying to keep this fairly simple. I'm working on a few things I can make quickly but still have the quality, and sell them cheaper. That's why I started doing the rubber skins. I need a few items in the ole catalog like that. Having everything I make be an acrobatic engineering feat is really slowing me down. :banghead

Thanks for the update, and I hope you weren't offended by my comments. If there's a sculpted mask and a straightjacket in the pipeline from you I'm definitely interested in getting in on that! Hope to see some pictures soon.

A removeable mask with Cillian Scarecrow head plus a Cillian Dr Crane head and a ripped straightjacket with all the goodies sounds awfully good to me. :D

Thanks Shawn

hope Hot Toys does something like this, but with Straight Jacket included in the package

hope they aren't done with The Dark Knight line

Hot Toys has already said they have no more TDK Figures planned.

I did speak to Shawn today and he said he Hopes to have this ready in a couple weeks!

Will the mask be latex or silicone? My understanding is that latex starts breaking down after a few years whereas silicone lasts upwards of 30?

About the time they announced TF, about a month ago or so...

I don't know if it was an announcement or an answer to a Collector.

Latex can last many years if properly maintained. The reason a lot of latex masks begin to rot after a few years is due to it being contantly worn and not cleaned afterwords.

I don't know if it was an announcement or an answer to a Collector.

They said so in a toy magazine from HK. Something like "no new characters from TDK are planned for now."

well at least they said nothing new for now
sounds like they still want to work on it
but for now, perhaps they're focusing on their other planned projects
maybe working on an Iron Monger or something else surprising
they had just announced Edward Scissorhands
so i'm sure they want to start other stuff but maybe they do have some ideas for Dark Knight
hopefully, the obvious, Scarecrow, maybe a Commissioner Gordon too
or maybe they'll wow us with Ra's Al Ghul
you never know, Movie Masters had mentioned their working on a Ra's figure for their Dark Knight line
odd, since he didn't appear in it

I'm glad they're done with TDK... let's move on with ALIEN and Predator now. :)

Seriously though, HT has done a great job with the key figures. Gordon was never likely in my opinion as a good seller. Yes, maybe to a lot of people here, but not worldwide. Scarecrow would probably sell, but there's probably other things HT wants to pursue now.

At least we will have an option with Sovereign's piece. The Gordon gang has Spenser's sculpt or C.Howes to work with for their Gordon.

See, there's always a way to complete your set.

For me, having Joker, Two-Face and Scarecrow together will look wicked on the shelf.

Exactly, a wicked wall of willains. Or Arkham wing as it were...

I may even get a horse for Scarecrow... hehe...

One other thing. If and when HT ever decides to do this figure (which I doubt) they would make the fig with 2 heads as well, but I don't believe they would make one with a removeable mask...

You're getting carried away again. :)

And the doubters said my table was nutz... now I can use it for Aliens and TDK...

I meant a cheapo Horse. I just have this image of the Headless Horseman seared into my feverish little brain since I was a kid.. and that last scene with Scarecrow riding out of Arkham hit a nostalgic nerve. It was cool...

Now, how to make a little gas spewing thingy for the briefcase. :lol

I would get a Hot Toys Scarecrow. He was great in Batman Begins, and the TDK scene was preety cool. I doubt Hot Toys would make him though.
