Force Unleash was a fun power fantasy game but let’s not pretend the story was anything worth raving about lol. It was the Star Wars equivalent of DOOM.
I liked DOOM... :rotfl

edit: I liked it because I played it on a Novell network as my first ever experience with a true multi-player experience. Yes, I am old.

I do not understand the complaints about this figure forcibly reminding us of the Kenobi show. He looks like Vader, only the most minor of details is unique to that show. This is basically a Rogue One 2.0. Pretend the battle damage is from “Rebels” or whatever. This might be the best Vader figure we’ll ever get.

I’m not going to look at this on my shelf and moan “oh nooooo Kenobi show….”. I’ll just be seeing a nice representation of Darth Vader, cinematic icon.
Pretty much. Didn't care for the show outside of the 1 minute dialog Obi-Wan and Vader had in the last episode. Rest of the show was forgettable and unneeded.

I like Vader + Hayden + cool half mask/half sculpt look that this has. I've held off on all their other Vader figures throughout the years waiting for one that I would be content with. This is that. I'll probably grab parts from the ROTJ version when that releases as well. Need that Shaw head and whatever other piece of the armor/outfit they might do better on that one.

Getting this out of some love for the Obi-Wan show is the last thing this is. :lol Thankfully Vader's costume changes aren't as drastic as the changes we've seen from Marvel/DC movies. Those characters and figures are harder to separate from the movie they're from.

doesn’t change the fact it’s his first broken look.
Eh, it's more the fact they did the exact same thing as Rebels though.

Slash across one side of face, with someone he shares a past with, mixing Anakin and Vader voice together, talking about how Anakin is gone blah blah blah time to die.

Glad I pre-ordered this before it got waitlisted, looks like the perfect Vader in my eyes and I will be displaying it with the normal helmet though I'll likely end up switching back and forth with the Anakin head.

Now if only I could've gotten that Artisan Anakin. 😔
I think Hot Toys is going to revisit RotS Anakin, at some point, with the updated face sculpt.

While the Artisan looks outstanding, I won't mind saving $100+ on sculpted hair.

Are you serious? Name a Star Wars game with a better story than The Force Unleashed besides kotor. The game’s story was original and well written.

It's a bonus for me if the movie/show is great. If a figure of a character/actor I like turns out great... I don't particularly care how good the media was that it spawned from.

Case in point, I ordered the new Black Adam figure even though I haven't been bothered to actually watch the movie. Looks like Hot Toys knocked it out of the park, so I'm in. Wasn't even on my radar before in-hand pics/videos hit.

Patterson cut viewed. Wow, did he cut a lot out but it was definitely needed. He took a mediocre to bad series and made a pretty decent movie out of it. Still quite a bit of undesirables in there but I can at least say I liked it and it fit in much better with the SW movie universe than the show as a whole did.

Best parts: Obi-Wan / Vader final fight. So awesome. I don’t remember Obi-Wan hearing QGJ speak to him just before he left beaten Vader in the show but I may have just missed it. And the way Patterson ended it was a thousand times better than the show.

I can now view this awesome Darth Vader figure on my shelf and think fondly of the source material rather than wrenching in disgust of it. 😁

Is the Patterson cut just a version where a lot of stuff is cut and condensed down to movie format? Or is it also the one where a VFX artists that originally worked on OWK reshot some parts of the show as well as a few new scenes along with re-editing the pretty much the whole thing and some of the CGI to make a good OWK movie?

Much like how time and memory and alternate cuts fixes alot of the PT, we know Obi has a good story in it, with some questionable moments that also had a good core and decent story in it.
